On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Out Jan 19th
Some trax from this due out mid Jan 2019
4 trax off his up and coming album due Feb next year.
One of the best. Wild Willy Barrett on guitar which led me to play this:
Geneve is such a great song.
Abdel Rahman El Bacha - Bach: the well tempered clavier II
Willie And The Poor Boys. Eponymous debut on vinyl from 1985. Too long since I spun this collection of bluesy, rootsy rock 'n' roll from Bill Wyman's oldies band. The production and SQ is rock solid. Tight stuff sure to get the toe tappin,.
Nick Lowe. Labour Of Lust. On original vinyl from 1979. I love the opening track "Cruel To Be Kind". The rest of the album is decent, very Dave Edmunds-esque with a wide-open sound stage and robust bass.

Saw Otway/Barrett back in the day at the Lyceum, London....great gig, they were certainly wacky. I think they had just released the single...really free.
John Eliot Gardiner - Bach Cantatas
For Quinquagesima
BWV 22 / 23 / 127 / 159
Playing on Vinyl on JPS Records - Just brilliant Chicago Blues from Jimmy Dawkins

I saw Otway with another guitarist on the pub circuit in London in the early 80s. The first time they were on with some other band I’d gone to see, but we’re so entertaining that I went to two or three more their gigs in their own right over the following few years while still living in travelling distance of London.
Kami by Foudre!
Recorded live at Le Rex, Toulouse, 14 October 2017. I started out thinking it was like Kraftwerk meets Tangerine Dream, but no, this is unlike anything I have ever heard before. This is mind altering music!
George Benson - Shape of things to come
Shaving mirror edition, vinyl originally released 1958 - A great album to start the day off. Essential listen. ????
Lee Morgan – trumpet
Pepper Adams – baritone saxophone
Bobby Timmons – piano
Paul Chambers – bass
Philly Joe Jones – drums

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nils on several occasions in Liverpool. He never lets you down.
Ultimate Performer...????
Zakhir Hussain - Making Music
Having fired up the Radikal to play the Foudre album, I thought I might as well play a few more vinyl albums. This was given to me by a friend who decided this was not to his taste. I can't understand that as it's a beautifully recorded album of Indian music with a western crossover and some superstar names in support too.
Always been partial to a bit of Martin Nonstatic in the morning. Ligand streaming on Tidal
Seeing Peter The Painters post of Pirates made me get this 2004 gem from Rikki off the shelf - Top lyrics and very polished music.Ugly Man is bordering on Jazz in terms of mood.
For old times sake ...
Requires a certain state of mind to listen to, not everyday’s stuff...
This is much easier to appreciate and listen to..
