What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Freddie Hubbard - Ready for Freddie
Quite a line-up with Bernard McKinney (euph), Wayne Shorter (ts), McCoy Tyner (p), Art Davis (b) and Elvin Jones (d).
Double vinyl released 2013 - Recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles worked, All Your Life feels like the joyous labor of love its creator undoubtedly envisioned. Fine album ????
This always puts a smile on my face
Louis Armstrong Meets Oscar Peterson.
Primal Scream - Beautiful Future.
These musical chameleons always come up with something new on each new album, rather than simply repeat what has gone before,
and this one from 2008 continues that trend.
Very listenable, though maybe only one for committed Scream fans like myself.
The Beatles - Let It Be....Naked.
Empty house, beer, remote ...’play’.
Impressing the dog.

Ultimate Performer...????
Saw him on his first UK tour with about 100 people in the room and then again with Tom Petty as the support act. Petty just blew him off the stage. He had started using the trampoline.
Chris Potter - Moving in
- Bass – Larry Grenadier
- Drums – Billy Hart
- Piano – Brad Mehldau (tracks: 1 to 3, 5 to 7, 9, 10)
- Saxophone & Clarinet – Chris Potte
Travelling Wilburys - Vol 1, what an array of talent.
The Specials - Too Much Too Young.
Playing this one as I've just scored tickets for their UK tour in the Spring ............. nostalgia rules!
First Listen to this recent purchase earlier this afternoon. Johnny Marr - Call the Comet. A couple of tracks are quite reminiscent of the Smiths. A good listen.
Just finished listening to another new purchase, Richard Thompson's 13 Rivers, which has had quite a lot of favourable mentions on the forum. I concur with the views expressed by forum members - it's excellent and is probably his strongest album for some time. If you're an RT fan, you won't be disappointed.
The first one is definitely space, the other ones are more usual solo jazz piano..
The Jayhawks - Back Roads and Abandoned Motels. Released earlier this year, but I've only just got round to buying this. As usual, a lovely blend of rock, country and folk.

New album due out shortly with Terry Hall back in their ranks.
Yes - Fragile - CD
Must be 6 months since I played this. The 252 is running very nicely and I’ve just moved the nDAC twice as far away from the 252 and wow. The sound has really opened up and wow how exciting this sounds.
I also played
Phil Collins - ....but Seriously....
and the tracks that didn’t sound so good are so much better. I really feel the sound literally now even on 9 o’clock!

Already pre-ordered ............... good reviews so far.
Fairport Convention - Cropredy Capers CD 3, WAV CD rip
My ticket for the 2019 Cropredy Festival arrived today, so a nostalgic listen tomthos restrospevtive of the 1st 25 years (2019 is the 40th anniversary). A reminder of how much fantastic music the band has served up there over the years, on a cold wet day in the Calder Valley it takes me back to some scorching summer days, and some freezing downpours at the festival over the years.
2019 looks like a strong lineup, classic acts including Martin Barre playing Tull songs, Caravan, Richard Thompson (with Pegg, Mattacks and Nicol), The Waterboys, young acts including the excellent folk trio Wildwood Kin. [@mention:1566878603873289], we were discussing Christine Collister a few weeks ago, she’s playing Cropredy as part of Daphne’s flight (Christine Collister, Melanie Harrold, Julie Matthews, Helen Watson and Chris While). Given RT is playing a set with his old ‘69-‘71 Fairport muckers, I suspect the two Chrises will probably join them to do some Sandy songs as well.
Dexter Gordon - The apartment
- Bass – Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen
- Drums – Albert "Tootie" Heath
- Piano – Kenny Drew
- Tenor Saxophone – Dexter Gordon
This album has been recommended a lot on this thread, by the likes of Ewemon, Nigelb and Eoink. Will Hoge - My American Dream. Perhaps more of a rock album than I was expecting - very enjoyable.
February 1992 - love this set from Maazel/Pittsburgh. Fabulous 2-microphone recording from Epstein/Graham.
