Just one more from Mr. Walsh...

Very influential band and album. An old jargon, but well ahead of their time. I’ve got to take it out for a spin one of these days.

hear you!

Your double glazing must be good, since I swapped the 82 for the 52, I’ve noticed that the volume sneaks round a notch or so as the sound is so right. There’s a large space between my house and my neighbours, even so I hope they like Zep. ????

Lucky old me, I'm detached, with allotments on one side, an outdoor grassy kids playpark opposite, and an extremely understanding neighbour on the remaining side.
She's got a hot pool behind her house, nearest to my music room, and has been known to text me with music requests .......... so, it's all good!
Tidal. Wanda Johnson - Call Me Miss Wanda
Beth Hart - Better Than Home
I am a big fan of Beth's and I think this is one of her finest.

I’ve never had comments from the neighbours, similarly I’m detached, on a hillside so above me no danger, it’s 20 feet of slope up to the road and the main stereo is downstairs, but noting that the B&Ws are nominal 90db/w/m, and the volume knob is at noon with 135s, I do sometimes think I should check sideways . ???? In summer I don’t open the French doors in the lounge with the big system on loud because it’s about 90m down to the valley floor and I suspect that could make it all the way to the other side.

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin’, 1980s vinyl
Having listened to Manfred Mann’s With God On Our Side, time to go back to the original. I say it a lot, but His Bobness had a run of 10 or so albums at the start of his career that beggars belief. This is still the folk Dylan, Bob, guitar, harp, his poetic lyrical genius has flowered, he’s angry and telling us, with lyrics that carry the full power of his anger. I love the way his voice and guitar carry the lines, this is close to the perfect protest album.

Life is great, when one can wind it up a bit, knowing that the neighbours aren't getting pissed off ........ makes for a much happier life.

Chunky, as you are enjoying them try an earlier album Hvel that, I have a lot of time for. Available over on bandcamp as you will already know. Cheers
Steve
Thanks Steve, I'll do that.

I moved here from a flat in an old Victorian house in London, where I had the 135s with first Epos ES14s and then the 804S, it’s fair to say the Stax headphones got a lot of use back then.
(1998)
Humdinger - The Hoax
It's getting very close to the end of the year and I'm playing this one yet again because it's my best discovery of the year. The best band that I'd never heard of, huge thanks to Ewemon for flagging them up, heavy funky British blues rock at it's best.
Deep Purple - Made in Japan, vinyl 1972 not 1st pressing
Another great 1972 rock live recording, I set out to listen to disc 2, and got dragged into playing LP1 as well. Masterful hard rock, I even enjoy the drum solo, Gillan’s a great rock wailer, Blackmore a superb guitarist, Glover/Paige a serious rhythm section, and Jon Lord’s organs add texture and power. A great live rock album.

Check out this video of the boys doing a hard core take on some Stevie Wonder, absolutely wonderful....
Tidal. NNenna Freelon - Tales of Wonder
The Hoax
Doing great live stuff
Do yourselves a favour and check these out and then follow the links.
- Sir Christemas cd by Ex Cathedra, sublime. Christmas and seasonal. Worth a listen if you don't know them. Even better see them, the regular Christmas concerts at St Pauls church in the Jewellery Quarter are glorious.
Ex Cathedra are a Birmingham UK based choir, the singing is superb. Just the right thing to play today while we decorated the Christmas tree.
Bob F
Chillin' to this fine double vinyl. ????
Mel & Kim - F.L.M
Thought I would revisit my yoof courtesy of Tidal. I'm ashamed to admit that I did actually own a vinyl copy of this back in the day. Not too bothered now that my father threw it out when they moved house a few years ago.

I was at their St Matthew Passion this Easter in the Symphony Hall, sublime.
Thievery Corporation The Cosmic Game, streaming on Tidal, brilliantly produced, dub reggae meets acid jazz from this US duo, their best album imo.
