Tears for Fears - Rule the World (Greatest Hits)
I decided to play this whilst Christmas decorating part 2. My wife has been singing along like a canary, luckily she has a reasonably tuneful voice. She also reminded me that she saw them at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff the night before the roof collapsed due to the weight of snow. She thinks it was 1983.

joerand posted:Rickie Lee Jones. The Magazine. On original vinyl from 1984. A splendid album that passed me by in my youth. Happy I can now appreciate its virtues. Fantastic dynamic range in the recordings.
This was an album I just loved on its release. Still do. Her whole catalogue is more hits than misses. By far. We have just about everything she's done.
If you haven't seen it, watch the documentary that was made around "The Other Side of Desire". She's had an incredibly interesting life. She comes across as flawed/human and that makes it all the better. It's also a great album, and a return to form to some extent in my view.
Listening to the 9th...

Funnily enough I never really took to this album when it first came out it was only later that it hit a sweetspot for me. I have a ton of official and non official live shows of hers. I even remastered one and sent it to her but lost a HDD this year with it on it so don't have a copy now.
