On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now listening to this one. Is completely different, straight forward Trio jazz, but very well executed, easy to enjoy....
Yes - Fragile
This shouldn't need any introduction. Currently playing the CD rip through the ND555 and it's sounding rather fabulous. Great record, which should be on my desert island.
Rockin' along with JJ again tonight...brilliant on vinyl. Tons of energy.
Vinyl released 1974 - From the “White Lightnin’ box set. ????
Jamming along to Hey Bulldog on my guitar...
(1989)
Tragically Hip - Up To Here
Very fine Canadian rock from a great band, it makes you wonder why fine music like this never took hold over on this side of the pond.
Yes - Time and a Word
Following on backwards and missing the Yes Album, if you see what I mean.
Then along with the title cut here
Yet again; our tastes are in harmony, Steve.
A regular fave of mine.
'Locked in the Trunk of a Car' is particularly great.
I too have 'Up to Here' and a friend steered me onto 'Road Apples' - apparently code for lumps of frozen horse poo.
Good listening.
John.

Never got the push by MCA. no promos, freebie tshirts/jackets etc or multiple tours of the UK. They didn't even have a breakthrough album or single in the US.
They were a Candian institution and at one point sold more records than U2 in Canada.
Personally I thought they produced some brilliant albums and Night and Day contains one of my all time fav trax Nautical Disaster.
They also allowed their fans to record their shows so they were in the true essence of the name a fans band.
I stayed up to watch their last gig which was one of the most emtional gigs I have ever seen.

John keep an eye on fleabay to see if an official live bootleg comes up for sale entitled Roxy and Elsewhere which was recorded for the bands fans around the time of Road Apples.
You won't be disappointed as it is absolutely brilliant

They have made so much good music on so many fine albums, John. I don't remember if there is a duff album in their catalogue but I would doubt it. The one's that you have are great but don't miss out on their other albums which (for me) are all very fine. They must sound spectacular on your wonderful system!
Emily Remler - Firefly
Her first album as leader, playing her modified ES330.

Cheers Ewen that explains a lot, what a loss for the band and for the rock fans here gagging for this quality of music here in the East!
Switched to the Beatles, don’t listen too often to them which is a pity..
And when you start, you have to continue...
(1994)
The Tragically Hip - Day for night
Carrying on with the boys and this is one of my favourites
His best album by far. One for you Dave
Continuing with the Beatles journey of the evening, not the last one though..
Vinyl released 1991 - Just gate crashing the party, with this fine TH album. ????
Various artists - A Tribute To Curtis Mayfield.
