On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Had a bit of a detour to more progressive rock...
I've not played a lot of John Martyn lately. Putting that to right tonight with this wonderful album.
John Martyn - One World
Before landing back at a great album....
Now playing..........
Van Morrison - The Prophet Speaks
Streaming on TIDAL........ taking Van's "The Prophet Speaks' out for a second spin. Released on December 6th, 4th album in 14 months and he is still releasing music that makes you want to swing, Van is the Man!
Made in Japan is still going. If anyone has not heard the drum solo from The Mule at deafening volume, then you really should.

It’s a must like Moby Dick from Led Zeppelin...
And what about the organ/guitar interplay on Space Truckin’. Amazing.
hungryhalibut posted:Blue Guitar is a great album. We’re hoping to book him for WemsFest later this year. You must come.
Thank you Nigel. If you can book him, I'd love to come.
John Martyn - One World
Inspired by James. Besides, it's not a school night.

The Mrs will be back soon and you will have to turn that racket down! Unless of course the French Class Xmas do goes on a bit.
I don’t normally go for compilations, but this one, We Out Here, is outstanding!
From Bandcamp:
A primer on London’s bright-burning young jazz scene, this new compilation brings together a collection of some of its sharpest talents. A set of nine newly-recorded tracks, We Out Here captures a moment where genre markers matter less than raw, focused energy. Surveying the album’s running order, it could easily serve as a name-checking exercise for some of London’s most-tipped and hardworking bands of the past couple of years. Recorded across three long, fruitful days in a North West London studio, the results speak for themselves: they’re a window into the wide-eyed future of London’s musical underground.

Best line up of the band and they were sensational live.
