On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Vinyl reissue originally released 1968 - Fine start on a cold sunny Liverpool morning. ????
Rod Stewart - An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down
A guitar-tastic record but I wanted to hear, 'Ever seen a young girl growing old trying to make herself a bride' on the piano-driven Gladrags.
Playing on Compact Disc - Brilliant songs about life and being human from the fabulous Eels
Hook posted:I don’t normally go for compilations, but this one, We Out Here, is outstanding!
From Bandcamp:
A primer on London’s bright-burning young jazz scene, this new compilation brings together a collection of some of its sharpest talents. A set of nine newly-recorded tracks, We Out Here captures a moment where genre markers matter less than raw, focused energy. Surveying the album’s running order, it could easily serve as a name-checking exercise for some of London’s most-tipped and hardworking bands of the past couple of years. Recorded across three long, fruitful days in a North West London studio, the results speak for themselves: they’re a window into the wide-eyed future of London’s musical underground.
I'm sure the disc is really great, but reading Bandcamp's blurb, I just keep get this image popping into my head..........
