On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Inspired by Ewemon's selection earlier, I've just dug this out from my vinyl collection. Gene - Olympian. The Smiths seem to have been an influence on this band.
Wayne Shorter - Etcetera
Recorded in 1965 but not released until 1980.
- Bass – Cecil McBee
- Drums – Joe Chambers
- Piano – Herbie Hancock
- Tenor Saxophone – Wayne Shorter
My first listen, and really enjoying this fine EW&F album recorded and released in 1974 : )
on CD - from the big box of seriously funky tunes....
Playing on Vinyl - Great first solo album by The Byrds Gene Clark and The Godsin Brothers from 1967
Started an exploration on a fine Beethoven set...
All fine and remarkable recordings from the 60’s
A bit escaping this now...

Yes, I got this on CD when Ewe last mentioned it. Great Listen. I learned this poor guy tragically died in a car crash just after recording this album.
George Harrison
Live in Japan - 16/44.1

Wrapping up warm on the outside is common sense during the winter cold. I like to warm the soul on the inside, by listening to Sam Lee. I've yet to see Sam 'live', but I will make the effort next year by following updates from The Nest Collective
Winter Warmers...
(2016)
Big Big Train - Folklore
Because I fancied some contemporary British prog rock and these boys & girls do it in quite a nice folksy way as they look back nostalgically to an England with it's diverse life, industries and railway system a hundred or so years ago...
Keith Jarrett/ Charlie Haden - Last Dance
Coming down with a few shandies after a Southampton win.
Vinyl released 1970 - A Beard of Stars holds on to the charm of Tyrannosaurus Rex's early work while letting Bolan's natural charisma and rock moves finally take hold, and it's a unique and very pleasing album. ????
The evening started with Kyle...
Sophisticated jazz, will see these guys tomorrow...
Another one of the same trio...
