On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Ending the evening with the great Melody Gardot...
On vinyl...
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird
I slightly prefer CD2 on this wonderful double live album but tonight am listening to CD1 and am now confused as to why I preferred CD2. The entire album is just so engrossing.
So sad Eva is no longer with us.
Robbie Robertson & The Red Road Ensemble, Music for Native Americans. Forgot I had this CD until I ripped it yesterday, really fabulous album inspired by Robertsons own Mohawk heritage, well worth a listen and despite my disappointment with the sound quality of older cds this sounds pretty good but a tad dull, available on Tidal too.
Agnes Obel - Aventine
On vinyl...

I saw his 1982 recital at RFH. Such wonderful playing with a touch that was so exquisite that even the wrong notes didn’t matter. He enthralled the whole audience with his virtuosity and personality. One of my best ever ...
Rick Wakeman - The Six Wives of Henry VIII
Having enjoyed his concert last night, I thought I'd start the day with more from the man. I haven't played this in ages, but last night he played the piece, Jane Seymour, from this album.
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Memories In Rock - Live In Germany - CD Rip
Edward
Having another listen to this great album...
Yes - Progeny, Seven from '72
Despite all the claims, I still don't believe the SQ on this set is any better than on the original Yessongs album. I think Keys to Ascension offers a better live sound for Yes enthusiasts.
Dire Straits - Communiqué
Lazy morning on a day off. Second coffee, sun is out, no dramas.
Personal Appeal by R Stevie Moore.
Released 2013 - Fine album from the Grandfather of DIY. ????

Jeff Lynne: Long Wave
1st pressing white vinyl
'Execrable' is the word that keeps coming to mind. This album has me deeply conflicted as I love ELO, and the Travelling Wilburys, but this outing for maestro Lynne really leaves me cold, which is why this is only the third time I've listened to it since its release in 2012. It may be the last!
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Delightful Vivaldi Cello Concertos to lift the Monday Morning work Blues.
Playing on Compact Disc - Dry observational songs about the human condition from America's The Eels.
