On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
On CD
(1987)
The Best of The Spencer Davis Group
Some great stuff here from the sixties and I was just gagging to listen to that bass line and smokey organ backing Gimme Some Lovin'.
3 cd set released 2018 - This guy can sing, great collection of songs.
Enrico Pieranunzi - Improvised forms for trio.
Nice free style piano trio jazz.
- Bass – Hein Van De Geyn
- Drums – Hans Van Oosterhout
- Piano – Enrico Pieranunzi
Joni Mitchell - Taming the Tiger
I don't know why but I've not played this much, if at all, although I probably purchased it when it was released in 1998, so for me it's just like a new release from Joni. On first play I'd say it's very good indeed, not at all dissimilar to Turbulent Indigo.
Roland Hanna - Perugia
Roland Hanna - Piano.
(1975)
How Dare You!
Old 10cc which sounds lovely here from this 1989 Mercury Label CD, well worth investing in and far preferable to the dreadful sounding issues that followed.
No. 1's of the Eighties
Playing in the back ground as I prepare the hallway and the kitchen walls for panting tomorrow after my nephew plastered the walls.

Joni Mitchell - Hejira
I never need an excuse to play this album, without doubt my favourite studio album from the master songstress. This is written into my DNA and has a secret hidden spot on my desert island!
Now playing.......
Dire Straits - On The Night
Streaming on TIDAL.......... picking up the pace with Dire Straits with 10 tracks from a live performance, and sounding mighty fine!
(1975)
The Original Soundtrack
Because I fancied a bit more 10cc and this is another fine one, sounding great once again from an '89 Mercury CD.
Dexter Gordon - Something different
- Bass – Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen
- Drums – Billy Higgins
- Guitar – Philip Catherine
- Tenor Saxophone – Dexter Gordon
David Knopfler
Grace - CD Rip

Clive it's my favourite Joni album too.As you have so eloquently said on other Heijra posting the lyrics really went up a level on that album. There's just so much story in songs like Song for Sharon.I also love how restrospective she gets in Amelia.
The album cover so nicely dovetails the music within. One of those albums that should be in every collection its like a musical talking book
Playing on Compact Disc - Ethereal dreamy magic from Mazzy Star from 2013
I'm not too familiar with Joe Bonamassa, but recently heard him on Later with Jools Holland performing King Bee Shakedown and decided to give this CD a try. I listened to it earlier today and enjoyed it. With the prominent role performed by the backing horns, it reminded me a little bit of Neil Young's album, This Note's For You.
If you want a non cheesy Christmas jazz album, this will fit the bill very nicely.

Is that the 2016 Brexit bus having been updated?
Haven't played this particular Floyd album in quite a while. I wasn't initially impressed by Division Bell when I first heard it but warmed to it after a several plays. Mind you, I suppose that could be said for lots of their albums.
Another one I listened to earlier. The Best of Lindsey Buckingham (Solo Anthology). An excellent collection of songs from Lindsey's solo albums.
Vinyl released 2016 - For one week each year, some of the best songwriters in country, Americana, folk and roots music set sail on a musical adventure called Cayamo. Over the last few years,award-winning guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer Buddy Miller set up a recording studio on the ship and recorded and played with everyone from veteran songwriters to emerging artists. Buddy Miller & Friends’ Cayamo Sessions At Sea collects 11 of the best of these once-in-a-lifetime musical moments recorded on the 2014 and 2015 voyages with Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams, Kacey Musgraves, Richard Thompson, Lee Ann Womack, Shawn Colvin, Nikki Lane, Brandi Carlile, The Lone Bellow, Doug Seegers and more. Fine album. ????
- Procol Harum - Greatest Hits, an excellent selection.
