What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here (early 90s pressing, black plastic wrapper, with robot hands, cards etc)
A bit crackly in between tracks (adds analogue atmospherics) but boy does this album reach back to my musical roots and pluck them from the ground, interring them anew in more fecund tilth. First listen in quite a few years, and an update for the audio memory banks with a definite 'extra layers of detail' reaction since the summer of upgrades (DR, Kore and new XX2). Wish you were here?!
Playing on Compact Disc - Superdry life observational songs and experiances from the fabulous Eels
On CD. God make me funky on this Winter Solstice:
(1993)
Symphoniae
Glorious 12th century writing by the extraordinary and inimitable Abbess, Hildegard von Bingen. A visionary , healer, singer, poet & composer, beautifully sung by Sequentia.
Original UK CD. An absolute stone cold classic, and "Uncertain Smile" is just about the only occasion on which Jools Holland's boogie-woogie schtick has been remotely listenable:
1996 - Japanese issue...
Enjoyed listening to New Order yesterday, so I thought I'd return. This 1986 album (Brotherhood) is their most underrated, IMO and contains the sublime "All Day Long", in which Lou Reed, Prokofiev and Ennio Morricone are all thrown into the blender along with the most heart-tugging, enormous bass (from Hooky) ever committed to tape. Original Factory UK CD - with the metallic insert, no less!
Playing on Cassette on TDK AR C60 - Great album by Wishbone Ash very atmospheric on some tarcks like Lay Down The Sword.
