John Hiatt - The Eclipse Sessions.  Just got this and giving it a first spin.  On a first listen, it sounds a bit patchy, but I need to give it more time.

Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman

Prompted by an earlier posting on here, this is one of those rare albums that doesn't date and weirdly continues to sound better and better every time I hear it, and I have listened it many, many times.

Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges Ruth

Typical LL, poignant (and sometimes bizarre) observations, set to some great tunes, all done with wit and humour, so typical of the man.

(2014)

Madman

Because it's a lovely album but mainly to listen to Sean Rowe's very fine voice again.

Steely Dan

Chat elsewhere on the forum where J.N. introduced us all to the 'Steely Dan Dictionary' had me wanting to kick off the Citizen Steely Dan anthology (plus extras) from the very top...

For a long time Nerina Pallot's album Fires was my favourite, until this was released.  Right from the wonderful opening song Juno this album, Stay Lucky, delights.

Having come to John Martyn via 'The church with one bell' i tend to favour his later work (One World an exception here) and this album has been getting a lot of hard disk access time lately. Super recording and some great music, especially the funky 'Stand Amazed'.

John Martyn - Heaven and Earth

Also ordered, cheers Dan. Amusingly you can buy the MP3 for £8.99 on the river, or the CD for £4.99 with free MP3 download.

On Tidal via UQ2,

Keith Jarret's concert at the Teatro alla Scala, Milan released in 1997.  I've listened to Keith's version of  Over the Rainbow a few times from this concert which is something very special but have never listened to the whole concert  before well it won't be the last time that's for sure.

Keith Jarrett cannot always hold my attention but here he is truly exceptional.

Just discovering the joys of some "Summer of Love" psychadelic rock.

A lovely album.  The song I May Know The World is especially lovely with hauntingly beautiful lead guitar work.  At the end of the album I have found myself going back to that song for another listen.

Will Hoge - My American Dream, Tidal

Still one of my faves of the year, incandescent lyrics from Will Hoge, screaming country rock playing from a powerful tight band, Thoughts and Prayers approaches the level of Dylan’s Masters of War in its bitter contempt for its subjects. Thanks again Ewemon for a great introduction.
