What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Steely Dan - Alive in America - WAV CD Rip.
Hav8ng read bits of the Steely Dan dictionatpry shared earlier, I had to hear them. I tend to think of them as a studio album band, but this is a fantastic live album, the band were really tight here, appreciative audience, and the unashamedly intelligent and witty lyrics shine through.
One of the best dance albums of all time.
Mark Knopfler - One Take Radio Sessions
My favourite of this year's new releases. I'm not a big fan of Country music but this is really special.
Now Playing..........
Joni Mitchell - The Hissing of Summer Lawns
Streaming in NAS.......... taking it nice an easy on this holiday weekend and spending some time with Joni!
Dire Straits: On Every Street, original vinyl.
Not my favourite DS, but plenty of atmosphere courtesy of reverb and delay and the classic steel guitar sound of one Mark Knopfler (once I'd remembered to switch the 32.5 back to stereo after Miles Davis' mono effort...
And dynamic to boot. Who needs a re-release pressing with questionable pedigree?
The Beautiful South - Solid Bronze Great Hits, WAV CD rip
For me Paul Heaton is one of the great quirky English singer-songwriters, with the Beautiful South he allied his voice with a series of female singers who complemented him superbly. Superb witty and intelligent pop-rock, some of the best pop music of the ‘80s/‘90s.

Eoin, did you catch the Heaton documentary that was aired this month on Channel 4 ?It's titled "From Hull to Heatongrad" and well worth a watch.I've just checked and it can be downloaded from All4 which can be found on Sky Catch Up TV if you have access.
All the best and seasons greetings
Alan

I hadn’t spotted it Alan, it’s downloading now, thanks a lot. I’m popping down South for a few days, I’ll enjoy it when I return. Have a great Christmas and New Year, look forward to talking music again soon.

And I've never heard 'Heavy Fuel' sound so good Summer of upgrades now run in
Mainly for Gaudete which I had the pleasure of seeing them perform many many moons ago.
This is a great album:
The version of "Theme in Search of a Movie" on this one blows the original studio recording away.
All your favourite carols reworked by a master guitarist.
Hideyo Harada - Schubert
As it had been published a couple of times on this forum, interesting different album...
Then I continued with another of her yesterday night before going to bed...
Started this morning with a decent Brahms..
