What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
A Tribe Called Quest - We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service
CD rip.
I’ve been listening to this recording regularly since it came out just over a year ago. The reviews at the time emphasized the similarities with the baritone’s recording for Onyx, seemingly implying redundancy or at best pointing out that this newer issue is slightly more fluent and therefore more mainstream (?).
But listen to the recordings as a whole, and this newer recording emerges as the bleaker, more inaccessible, and yet with a more graded, subtler range of colours. Boesch’ tendency towards Sprechgesang is reduced, however, he seems even more hesitant than before to open up - I usually turn up the volume to fully appreciate the words. Only when he gets to Die Krähe, Boesch adds a clear extrovert element, but the overall feeling after Leiermann remains restrained.
This Winterreise is hard work for the listener- and a work of art. Highest recommendation.
Cheers
EJ

Raider, you are spot on with your assessment of this LP.
Not listened to any Beatles for such a long time. Putting that right now with a classic.
Ceremonial Tudor Church Music - vinyl
Just right for getting me in the Christmas mood. Beautiful singing all round, including the superb alto voice of James Bowman.

Kate Bush: Hounds of Love/Ninth wave, vinyl.
I can't believe it's 33 years since this album came out and still one of my all time favourites. A bit crackly in parts, but loses none of the vibrancy.
2018 - Tidal...

Mr.Lanois producing if I recall correctly, the man can do no wrong
Can’t believe this woman doesn’t get the recognition she deserves.
Hope yo’all have a great Christmas and a safe NY. Take care Naimophiles.
Jascha Heifetz - Bruch, Concerto No. 1, Scottish Fantasy; Vieuxtemps, Concerto No. 5
The great drummer leading a classy band including Pat Metheny.
John Coltrane - Coltrane's Sound
JC (ts), McCoy Tyner (p), Steve Davis (b), Elvin Jones (d).
According to AMG, this is "one of the most highly underrated entries in Coltrane's voluminous catalogue". Aside from a dodgy piano sound at times, I would not dispute the AMG assessment.
Víkingur Ólafsson - Bach
Very nice performance of Bach's music.
Alison Krauss - Windy City (Deluxe)
This lady has an extremely sweet and captivating voice. Brilliant.
Still some nice music this morning before the Christmas business kicks off...
Happy that I recently acquired this one..
Always nice to listen to Jack touches the right sentiments...
Right now listening to this, the last one or perhaps one before driving...

Great idea, Bert. More Jack Johnson:
It's the only Jack Johnson I have (actually the complete JJ sessions).

That’s also an interesting album, while I wouldn’t want to be with the others as well....
Released 2012 - Signed copy from Saturdays excellent gig. This is a brilliant retrospective look at the career of Ian Prowse through his two bands - Pele and Amsterdam. The guy's a bloody genius and - along with his fellow Liverpudlian and occasional cohort, Ian McNabb (Icicle Works) should have far more recognition and success in both bands than he has had. Including duets with Elvis Costello and Christy Moore makes this a fine listen. ????
Vinyl LP - an old favourite!
