On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Joe Bonamassa is a big fan of this band and I have to say I am as well.
Jimmy Raney, Jim Hall & Zoot Sims - Two Jims and Zoot
Wonderful jazz.
- Bass – Steve Swallow
- Drums – Osie Johnson
- Guitar – Jim Hall, Jim Raney
- Tenor Saxophone – Zoot Sims
Triple vinyl released 1977 - Young’s sturdiest compilation, great album. ????
Now playing..........
Melissa Etheridge - Memphis Rock and Soul
Streaming on NAS.......... needing something to get the feet shuffling this morning and Melissa has a funky beat going and the feet are just involuntarily moving, sounding mighty sweet and a lovely way to start the day!
Stefan Temmingh - Bach: French & English suites
Haim Ronen posted:With Ruggiero Ricci on the violin.
That's odd. I thought it was Veronica Veronese on the violin. Painted by Dante Gabriel Rosetti in 1872. The model was Alexa Wilding.
TK421 posted:Alison Krauss - Windy City (Deluxe)
This lady has an extremely sweet and captivating voice. Brilliant.
The deluxe version is definitely the one to go for. The bonus tracks on many albums can be lightweight. Not on Windy City. Those bonus songs are lovely.
Lizz Wright - Dreaming Wide Awake
Nice.
Now Playing.......
Emmy Lou Harris - Quarter Moon In a Ten Cent Town
Streaming on NAS........... seeing a couple of recent mentions of Emmy Lou and thought I would take her out for a spin as well, and as always she is sounding mighty fine!
Lee Morgan - Search for the New Land (vinyl reissue)
Todd Rundgren / Utopia - Adventures in Utopia
Original vinyl.

Thanks for the prompt, Nigel. Following your post I've just ordered that album on CD
Richard Morris posted:Digital EP from Bandcamp. Piano trio.
Stonking version of 'O Come all Ye Faithful'.
Not just a piano trio. Joey Alexander is very young and extremely talented...
Tracey Thorn - Record (96/24)

The picture looks to have an Pre-Raphaelite influence.

Clive beat me to it! Rossetti being one of the group with Burn Jones and Morris, whose wife later became a mistress to Rossetti.
Cara Dillon - Cara Dillon
This is nice too.
Genesis - The way we walk volume two
The Dead South - Good Company
Thanks Ewe for bringing us this Bluegrass belter.

There is a fantastic Burne-Jones exhibition at Tate Britain (or the Tate as I still think of it), I saw it a couple of weeks ago, I’d recommend it to anyone who loves the Pre-Raphaelites.
Now Playing..........
Amy Wadge - Amy Wadge
Streaming on TIDAL.......... spending a little time with Amy, fantastic voice, lyrics and music, worth the time to give a listen. .......she is sounding sweet!

Great album, and I am still waiting for my copy to float down the river to me.
She wrote/co-wrote a number of Ed Sheeran's successful songs and, day I say, she had more influence over their success than he might care to mention. Not sure if she gets a mention on his CDs, certainly not the one i own.

Max, thanks again.
Seeing Amy Wadge I thought I would play this Amy with Pete Riley a superb album in fact one of the best albums this year for me.

Nigel very true Amy has worked with quite a few famous artists Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue to name a couple.
Quite difficult to find many of her CDs to purchase.

Great LP, love the intro to the title track.
