"Clockwork Angels" - Rush (CD)

I have thought about getting the remixed version of "Vapor Trails", but can't help wondering that even if it's technically superior, it might be a case of it not sounding right, given that I'm completely used to the original?   Tbh, this time round, the original didn't seem all that bad, relative to its infamy...

Just landed for Christmas, the Time Machine 2011 Blu-ray. It’s a total mindblower. Rush is the only band I wanted to see live, that I never got a chance to. So, great to have this type of quality to enjoy.

Stop rushing around!

Vapor Trails remix is good.

Pachelbel: Kanon and Gigue: Musica Antiqua Koln, Goebel, Arkhiv, vinyl 1983

Superb recording, silky smooth replay, not a single glitch from original pressing.

Had to play after listening to Radio 4 John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme Series 6 Episode 3. Listen and understand

Tom Odell - Wrong Crowd

A present from my niece and nephew. I've seen the guy once at a festival and liked how he got the crowd going in the siesta slot. This CD confirms it.

Recent(ish) mentions of Led Zeppelin reminded me that it's been a while since I listened to any, so, over six nights:

"Led Zeppelin" - Led Zeppelin (CD)

SNIP

"In Through the Out Door" - Led Zeppelin (CD)

Think that's me pretty much 'zepped out', now...

Are you saving Physical Graffiti and Presence for New Year's Eve?!

'Fraid that's the entirety of my Zeppelin collection - I've not even heard "Physical Graffiti" or "Presence"!

Presumably, a wrong that needs to be righted?

You're correct in your presumption! I expect when you listen to both albums you'll realise you have heard them, or at least certain tracks from them, notably Kashmir and Achilles Last Stand. I've tired a bit of LZ (as a teenager I listened to little else for a while), but Presence retains some magic for me. My favourite LZ album though is the soundtrack from the film, The Song Remains the Same. If you buy that one, try to get the original release, which excludes some of the actual soundtrack, but included overdubs and edits which were onitted in the remaster, which sounds sloppy by comparison.

Kate Bush - Never for Ever - CD

I got the first remastered box set for Christmas! I really like this album, perhaps because it’s new to me. It’s very imaginative music.

It Bites - Once Around the World

Sadly, for some reason it seems appropriate to hear the song, 'Hunting the Whale'.

Yes - Tormato

Equally appropriate, the song, 'Don't Kill the Whale'

A sad decision by Japan to recommence whale hunting.

Neko Case - Hell On.  I'm familiar with her work with The New Pornographers and have started to investigate some of her solo work.

Clive,

It's a shame with Tormato that they couldn't better Going For The One as I thought that album was superb.I remember the critics calling it a rotten Tormato !

Yeah I felt disgusted by the news of renewed Japanese wailing, for scientific research purpose's abhorant and laughable. When there all extinct the world must thank them for their conservational efforts.

Wishing you a fine weekend

Cheers Ian
