On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Jeff Anderson posted:Stevee_S posted:Sade - The Ultimate Collection (2011) With a voice as smooth as warm melting chocolate, I regret never having seen her doing her thing in a club like Ronnie Scott's.
This is pretty good, from around 2003.
Thanks Jeff, that's kind of you I'll go and look it out.

Now Playing.......
Imelda May - Live Love Flesh Blood
Streaming on Tidal....... Keeping the mellow beat going this Monday, a tremendous album!
Mary Coughlan, Sentimental Killer, original vinyl.
Spotted Seakayaker playing this earlier. One of Mary’s best, jazzy, bluesy, excellent backing musicians, the version of Handbags and Gladrags is a standout for me.
1998 - Tidal...
Playful trio jazz
Schubert Arpeggione Sonata, Beethoven Variations on themes from The Magic Flute, Robert Bex Cello, André Krust piano, original vinyl, £1.99 from Oxfam a few months ago, original cardboard inner sleeve only, no outer.
I’ve no knowledge of either musician, but so far in the Schubert a very enjoyable performance, lovely tone and pace on the cello. Slightly clicky in the quiet parts, must remember to buy an RCM.
My first venture into the Ozrics! I bought this yesterday on vinyl for <£15 on the River, having seen someone else post an Ozrics album on here. My sister-in-law used to have a boyfriend who was very much into this band, yet I didn't take the opportunity to listen to them then.
Quite suits my taste so far.
Just finished playing
Playing now.

Just spinning this again and again...i love this record!
Am really enjoying this new discovery courtesy of this thread.
Altan, The Red Crow, original vinyl.
My favourite Irish traditional band, Mairéad Ní Mhoanaigh sings beautifully in the few vocal tracks, and the whole band show extremely fine musicianship, both in technique and interpretation, across all the well chosen traditional numbers. Tommy Bhetty’s waltz is one of my most loved pieces of music.
Stones - Black and Blue
What d'ya mean, it's late?!
The Stones - Love You Live
Norah Jones - Not Too Late
Oscar Peterson - Verve Jazz Masters No. 16 an excellent introduction to his work on the classic label

Meeting by the river:
Now Playing.......
Emily Barker - Sweet Kind of Blue
Streaming on TIDAL......... Emily has a great voice, one terrific album, give it a spin and I don't think you will be disappointed!
Quite strange to listen to this kind of music during workout...
Slowly Rolling Camera (eponymous)
Saw it mentioned here. Playing it for the third time. A downtempo slow burn, I think.
Now Playing........
Emily Barker - The Toerag Sessions
Streaming on TIDAL....... Taking out another of Emily albums to start off this Tuesday morning. A sweet & gentle voice fits well this morning.......
First of the afternoon a nice start.
just bought GOGO Penguin on vinyl
I
I have this one in my collection too. I saw them when they were on tour and visited our local pub. I was a bit of a folk fan in those days (well, still am really) and it was a good, well lubricated night.
