What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now Playing.......
Lucinda Williams - World Without Tears
Streaming on TIDAL...... Boz Scaggs and Lucinda Williams finished the 'A Fool To Care' album with "Whispering Pines" and it was a natural selection to place a Lucinda Williams album in the queue to be played next. Lucinda is sounding sweet, yes mighty fine!
Jamie Cullum - Radio 2 - Nait 02
steve
Al Stewart - Year of the Cat WAV CD rip
Album full of wonderful songwriting, beautifully played and sung. One of the classic albums, with the title track being a classic in its own right. I’ll see Stewart at Croppers later in the year, so thought I’d give this a spin on the NAS.

I know I posted this not so long ago but listening to it now am compelled to stick up here again. It is a fine album, so relaxing. Even the more upbeat tracks are so easy to immerse yourself in, a very good sign in my book. A rather personal choice I would imagine, but I like this one.
Completely agree, Nigel. No excuse for playing that album often and posting more than once.

Cara Dillon - Wanderer
OK, OK, guilty again of re-posting. This is just lovely and the wonderful SQ only helps immerse the listener. Not a weak track here, but If you only sample one make it track 3, The Leaving Song. Absolutely beautiful and it gets me every time.
Randy Crawford, nice easy listening.

Wow, Nine Below Zero, I had no idea they had reformed. I suspect it’s 30 years since I listened to anything of theirs, I never got round to buying the albums, so they’ve dropped out of mind. Nostalgia trip incoming.
Nine Below Zero - Live at the Marquee Tidal
Reminded of their existence by Graham Russell above, I’ve gone back to the beginning and their debut album, it’s as much fun as I remember from back in the day, excellent hard driving blues rock, with an audience having a blast. Cheers Graham.
2 x LP - This compilation © 2009 Lilith Records Ltd / Music Lovers reissue : )
Earlier today - not earthshaking but enjoyable...
The LiveJazzLounge is great it offers a huge collection of live jazz recordings in mostly a quite decent quality for free....
One of these fine ensemble albums of Fresu. He is not so prominent as his later albums, but both variants work for. Looking forward to the release of his latest one in a bit
Now a very nice oldie...

Another artist who is new to me. Sounds very promised so have just ordered this album.

Same here, just ordered off the Bay
Oh goodness, I hope you guys like Cara Dillon!
I've yet to be disappointed at a recommendation I've found on here, Nigel. Will report back when I get the album, of course.
Led Zeppelin 3 : WAV Rip from SHM CD
Another fantastic album from Zep, Bonzo’s drumming is incendiary at times, the balance between acoustic and electric numbers is great, Percy wails as only he can, and the ensemble is unbelievably tight. I will struggle to get Gallows Pole out of my head for days now. Great SQ again from this fantastic set (thanks again to the guys who introduced me to it, you know who you are). Annoyingly I have a conference call booked with my US colleagues at 9.30, so will probably have to skip Hats off to Harper, bad timing on my part.
You've reminded me that I promised myself a Led Zep evening, Eoink.

Enjoy!
Diana Krall - Love Scenes
Nerina and Cara have put me in very chilled mood so another wonderful female vocalist to continue to ease my mind. One of my favourite DK albums and this is the hi res version and is just wonderful.

This arrived today. On first listen I'd say it's not dissimilar to Erpland, by which I mean just as good.
Clive, was that defective Erpland vinyl you sent back on the Madfish label, or Music Lovers?
I have Erpland on Music Lovers which typical for the label is digital sounding CD quality SQ : /
...would expect Madfish vinyl to be far better
Debs
It was Madfish, Debs. The SQ was actually very good apart from the occasional click on side one and an annoying hash on side two, which was imperceptible in the louder passages, but really irritating in the quiet spells. Sides three and four were perfect. Both discs were dead flat. The CD is fine, perhaps lacking the full presence of the vinyl, but is OK through the NDS. And it comes with a DVD of a live concert, which I've not yet tried.
Now Playing........
Keb Mo - The Door
Streaming on TIDAL....... A mention of Keb Mo earlier by STEVEE_S had me place 'The Door' in the Tidal queue and now taking it out for a spin. Great voice & music!
Just playing Sonata No. 10 in C major, K.330 from this set, having heard it played live earlier on In Tune on BBC Radio 3
1977 - 2005 DVD...
Just because I drove by the legendary theatre this afternoon.
