On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
1977 - UK first pressing...
Big Country - The Crossing.
A blast from the past with this classic Jock Rock album.
Spear of Destiny - Outland Tidal
Listened to this in my youth, but not sure I'm a fan nowadays.
Will keep listening for now.
Greetings from Asbury Park N.J., Bruce Springsteen. IMgur is having a bad evening, so no picture.
45 years old today, some classic Bruce songs, lacks the power of later E Street Band albums, but still a fantastic record.
1997 - UK pressing...
Yury Martynov - Beethovens symphonies in Liszt‘s transcription the piano.
definitely not going through all Nine, tonight, but tried #5 and it is an interesting experience. The reviewer in the radio that pointed me to this release mentioned Yury must have 20 fingers. At least ! But it is the silent moments that make this release precious, not the bombastic ones. Great find. And hurrah to the alpha label again that rowed the boat against mainstream, allowing usage of contemporary instruments, which create an athmosphere of „yes, could have sounded like that when Liszt did the transcript...“
Modern jazz with a nice flavor to it....

I already have one of this and it’s indeed nice. I am now thinking about what to get the standard definition version, or buying the missing ones separately in high res....., I think I will go for the last option...
Nathan Davis (Quartet) - Rules of Freedom. CD-rip
If
Echo & the Bunnymen - Songs to Learn & Sing via Tidal
Enjoying this, volume cranked up.
Booker T. & The MG's - Green Onions.
It's Booker T. Jones, it's Steve Cropper, it's a classic, end of.

Nick Cave’s forehead can’t be right!
Some Texas blues.
Just love the groove he has on this album.
Tonights listening.
Last one of the evening..
Today's arrival, courtesy of Ms. Manzoni from Italy whom I had not yet the pleasure of meeting.
Sublime piano playing of Ernesto Nazareth's (1863-1934) compositions by the Brazilian pianist Arthur Moreira Lima.
Bruce Springsteen. Born To Run (1975). On a hifalutin remastered CD from 1994. Great album regardless of the format and some energetic music for me to kick-off the weekend.
Finishing up.......
Fink - Hard Believer
Streaming on NAS........ Another album that continues to grow on me, really enjoy Hard believer
The Kinks. State Of Confusion. On vinyl from 1983. I saw them in concert soon after this brilliant album was released, never a note of tension discernable on stage between Ray and Dave, and a most enjoyable, professional performance.
Now Playing........
Fink - Fink Meets The Royal Concergebouw Orchestra
Streaming on NAS........ Continuing on with more Fink, working well for this Friday evening.
