On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(1968)
50 year old smokin' funky white blues n' rock , no need to say why I want to listen to these old boys.
Garry Clark Junior playing a wicked set from 2014......Loving it
Todays selection The Rolling Stones - Undercover and Eric Clapton - Behind The Sun.Both of these albums I feel are definitely of their time but played in isolation reveal some fine tracks by both artists especially the Clapton album which I have in SACD form .
Now playing The Band - Music From Big Pink

Last one of the day...
Procul Harum, A Salty Dog, vinyl
Maybe their finest album, the title track is great, the album consists of a set of brilliant tracks. , it wears its 49 years well. Some fantastic hard-driven blues rock, folky moments, moments of almost Kinks-level English eccentricity, complex and enjoyable arrangements, from a band playing at an extremely high level, Trower on fire, the rhythm section as tight as a very tight thing. From a 1972 double album rerelease with Whiter Shade of Pale, extremely good sound quality.
Dinosaur - Together, as one
Trumpeter Laura Jurd's band. The CD is labelled on the back as Radio 3 "new generation artists". I'm not sure that I totally get the music but I've stuck the the volume up and also poured a generous volume of malbec. All good.
Now Playing.......
Faith Hill - Take Me As I Am
Streaming on NAS........ Going back to a little country....
Gov’t Mule - Gov’t Mule, vinyl
Southern rock / blues rock, from top class musicians. This was the Mule’s first official album I think, basically they’re one of the greatest jam bands ever, listen to this for brilliant musicians having a complete blast jamming together, and making great music while they do it. Play it loud, and you'll have a huge smile on your face. Recent vinyl reissue, not 180gm, very good transfer.

Giving the system a workout
The song Frozen would certainly do that. Must give it another play myself.
My first play of this, their first album, released originally on cassette tape and sold at festivals or by mail order. This from the remastered Vitamin Enganced box set. Even at the outset they were completely different and are hard to compare to anyone else. Totally different to anything I've heard before and, therefore, very interesting.
Now I've moved on to Jimmy & Wes The Dynamic Duo from Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery.Cool!
Alan
Fleetwood Mac-Mr. Wonderful
Dead Heavens-Whatever Witch You Are
Bob Seger-Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
AC/DC-Highway To Hell
SRV-Couldn't Stand The Weather
last one for the night
1st run...
Miles: Complete Birth of the Cool.
Varied album..
Haven't played any Kate Bush for a while....sounding good on Compact Disc
Based on the listening I realized I need more Rypdal, Qobuz will be happy...
Now on this one, brilliant music
Hampton Hawes - This is Hampton Hawes vol. 2
Recording from 1955. Hampton Hawes was one of the finest jazz pianists of the 1950s, a fixture on the Los Angeles scene who brought his own interpretations to the dominant Bud Powell style.
