Ahhh. That is a good one. Just played it on vinyl. As an aside note, since we are in the same area, how are you streaming Tidal? I have Comcast with the Arris Modem/router and Tidal is basically unusable with the constant dropouts

Talking Heads. Stop Making Sense. On original CD from 1984. Excellent live performances and proof positive that early CDs could have outstanding SQ.

I use Centrylink high speed internet and from their router I run a Cat5e ethernet cable to a Cisco SG110D 110 Series 5-Port Unmanaged Network Switch. From the switch I then run one Cat5e ethernet cable to my Synology DS716+II NAS and a second Cat5e ethernet cable to the NDX. I had a lot of drop outs prior to the switch being installed. Occasionally I have a random dropout but have noticed it will be with a single song on an album being played and when bypassing the song the rest of the album plays. I also have noticed that on weekdays between 4 & 6PM I will experience dropouts. Not sure if the neighborhood spikes in usage with kids and workers getting home and jumping on the internet or what. It is not everyday but when it happens I usually just play music from the NAS. Constant dropouts stopped once getting the switch installed and working. I do run the Naim app from an Apple iPad.

k.d. lang - Ingenue

Streaming on TIDAL......   This happened the last time I heard Lizz Wright. Lizz sings a cover of 'Wash Me Clean' and she does it so beautifully I need to then listen to to k.d lang.    ......and there is never a bad time to listen to k.d.

@seakayaker,

Did you happen to catch lang's performance here Monday? Sunday's Seattle Times had an article on her "Ingénue Redux Tour".

No, did not attend and to be honest I didn't even know she was in town. Even if I knew I don't think I would have made the show since I had some construction work on my house that started Monday morning and hopefully will be completed by Friday. I will have to look up the Seattle Times article.

Oasis. Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants. On bonus import 2-CD package from 2000. Fancied some modern/alternative/indie/neo-psychedelia/post-punk/Britpop this evening. Looking over my holdings, it was this or Blur.

Chris Forsyth & The Solar Motel Band - Dreaming In The Non-Dream on vinyl. Bought this at Café Oto after seeing them there on Tuesday evening. I was blown away. Listening to them on record doesn't quite have the visceral impact of seeing them live but it's still hugely enjoyable:

Genesis - We Can’t Dance - CD (1991)

Well, I found my son had this one! The later era, but some some beautiful music such as Driving the Last Spike. Their come back after a four year rest, and a very big seller.

The Killer: Wonderful Wonderful. 16-bit CD Rip.

I've listened to this couple of time and its slowly gaining in my affections - certainly not as immediate as "Sam's Town" or "Battle Born" either. Always liked The Killers, even if they are sometimes accused of being a mishmash of influences (no bad thing IMHO), I really like their verve and energy. Mr. flowers does have an interesting voice too.

Recommended, if one prefers a hi-res version of the Brandenburg concertos that is not as fast or even aggressive as some of the other modern recordings. It keeps balanced tempi and I think it places emphasis on expressiveness if that's the correct term. Like many BIS recordings, it's a bit quieter than the competition and needs the volume to be turned up a bit.

The Three Imposters 2

Cousin Silas is once more in cahoots with his occasional accomplices Tim Jones and Kevin Lyons, this time creating a follow up to the original Three Imposters album released a couple of years ago. Dark, ambient electronic soundscapes that capture emotions from the eerie horror stories written by Arthur Machen.
