On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
1974 - vinyl - UK first pressing...
Classic debut album from 1966 from Texan garage psychedelia band The Thirteen Floor Elevators - Playing on Vinyl
Dr. Feelgood - Stupidity.
I seem to have talked myself into a wee nostalgia fest, chez Dave, with some of the bands I used to see live, way back when.
So, following Ian Dury ^ , the obvious follow up has to be this one.

The Black Angels - Death Song
I've been getting well into this excellent band in recent years whose inspiration and style stems from the likes of 13th Floor Elevators, The Velvet Underground and Doors. There's nothing not to like, this is their latest 5th album.

Streaming on TIDAL....... Another beautiful 2017 album release. Wonderful songwriter and musician with a fantastic voice, really enjoy this album. Worth your time to give a listen. Currently touring in the UK.....
Another belter, Seakayaker. You are on a roll. Keep posting please, even though it is costing me a fortune.
Every morning when the post arrives, SWMBO can be heard to exclaim, '....not another flippin' CD....'. I normally reply with something like '....think on dear, better this than say a drug addiction...', though thinking about how many CDs I've bought recently, that could be cheaper.
Just popping in the second cd after enjoying the first disc from Scooped by Pete Townsend.A must for any Who fan this is a collection of group and solo demos from Petes vaults that showcase his genius. Many are fully formed ideas that are complete instrumentally and not just the skeletal versions that many artists put out that are no more than solo piano or guitar pieces

Graham Parker and the Rumour - Heat Treatment.
Still doing the nostalgia thing, with this one ............. they were one of the finest live pub bands, way back then.
Nostalgia setting in methinks. An old classic from Danny O'Keefe.
Without a doubt in my Top Twenty albums of all time. Got me through some very sticky patches in the late 70's.
Fabulous late night listening and he was a really nice guy to boot.

Great choice, Debs. I too was playing this earlier today (first play, followed immediately by its second play). It's very different to Jurassic Shift, but a jolly fine album nonetheless.
Outstanding playing by Mr. Newborn JR whom I discovered lately. I bought the disc from one of the venders on Amazon only to discover upon delivery that the shipper is situated two miles from our home. Highly recommended.
