Another good album Teresa. Sometimes I just wish she would harden her sound.

The new Michelle Malone. Don't see her posted on here much so thought I should rectify that.

Gregory Porter - Take me to the Alley

Haven't listened to this for quite some time.

Just seems right for a Sunday AM.

First play of the last disc in the Vitamin Enhanced box set, 'The Bits Between The Bits'. I think I had the volume control up a bit after listening to Radio 3, started this and WOW! This is high energy Ozrics. I'll keep the volume up on this one, I think. Excellent SQ too.

Hank Mobley - Reach out!

  • Hank Mobley - tenor sax
  • Woody Shaw - trumpet
  • George Benson - guitar
  • Lamont Johnson - piano
  • Bob Cranshaw - bass
  • Billy Higgins - drums

Recorded in 1968. This is not the hard bop style jazz that Hank Mobley record in the 50's and early 60's. It's more soul jazz.

Great! Thanks to Thames Water, we currently have no H20. So I shall console myself by spinning a bit of Percy on vinyl...

Despite what the cover suggests, this is the complete recording of Verdi's opera, not the butchered soundtrack to the film.

Cheers

Original Vinyl... Brilliant Soundtrack.

Jimmy Smith - House party

An excellent album from Jimmy Smith with a great line up! Recorded in 1957 and 1958. The album has the feeling of a jam session with long songs and long solo's of the musicians.

The most recent album from the excellent Time is a Blind Guide. It’s probaby what you’d call avant garde jazz, but it’s really accessible.

Sylvie Courvoisier trio - D'Agala

Checking out this for me unknown jazz trio.

From the brilliant Ten Year War box, it's Sabotage on splatter vinyl. A terrible cover, but there are great treasures within, including my favourite Sabs tune, "Symptom Of The Universe"...

Kate Bush - The Whole Story

Older vinyl copy.

Why? You have to take Kate for a spin every so often. The vocals are just so different to the norm.

Now Playing.......

Chico Freeman - Spirit Sensitive

Chico Freeman - Spirit Sensitive

Streaming on TIDAL........   A mention from HAIM RONEN yesterday had me place this in the TIDAL queue and now taking it out for a spin to start this Sunday morning. It is sounding mighty fine, smooth and mellow, a perfect way to start this day!

The Donald (Fagen, that is, not the other guy). On vinyl. Still attempting to cheer the place up despite a complete lack of water.
