What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Yes I remember Slowdive and their wall of sound erm....sound from the 90s.
Good stuff although for the life of me I can't remember any of their song titles from that period.
S. Schepkin - one of the underestimate
Yesterday nice modern guitar jazz...
Yesterday evening as well
Richard Dane posted:Phil,
I have a German pressing that I bought new in the early '80s and that is not bad. Certainly it is better than my Sister's old mid '70s copy, but that may be because it's mint as opposed to worn and wrecked (my Sister's old copy). I would love to hear an original early pressing of this. I have to admit I listen most to this album in the car - Definitive Remaster CD ripped to iTunes in ALAC and replayed on my iPod Video 5G 80GB. I usually play the first four Charisma albums together - one after the other.
I’ve just caught up here, having been in France yesterday, but I need to speak up for the fifth album on Chrysalis, being ‘The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway’ (including disc two). I think this album really is the pinnacle to which all the preceding albums were leading. It’s a creative and artistic masterpiece IMHO. Even the album cover is beautifully presented.
I would also add the first live album, also on Chrysalis, which features live versions of songs from the first three albums, which are all, in my view, better than their studio equivalents.
Continuing the journey right now..
Some Enchanting Bach on a Sunny English Spring morning. Playing on compact disc
Clive, back to the discussion on Early Genesis I like Trespass as an album but must admit like MDS often overlook playing it in favour of Foxtrot- Selling England by the Pound. The first album I do enjoy but also rarely play is the first. What are your thoughts ?
A stunning album from Frances Black the equal to any I have of her sister Mary Black that I have in my collection.
The mention of Frances Black made me think of Black Francis.
When I was a student, this album used to get a lot of time on my old LP12. It's getting a nostalgic play now...
Pixies - Doolittle
Pink Floyd
The Final Cut (2011 Remaster) - CD Rip
After the brilliant concert in Glasgow last night (Brit Floyd) there is only one band i will be listing to today, the greatest band ever IMHO, first up "The Final Cut".
Edward
Pink Floyd
Animals (2011 Remaster) - CD Rip

2018 - Tidal...
The Breeders - All Nerve. It's like "Last Splash" all over again but grown up.

I’m going to buy the Gabriel era ones in the order they were released starting with Trespass, which I am buying (£5 + £1.72 p&p) through Discogs to get the 1994 + 2007 remix.

Thanks James,
Seeing your post of The Pixies Doolittle album and your Nostalgic memories of it has made me give Bossanova a spin.Love this album and the way it combines surfy guitars and Sci - Fi lyrics.I saw them on that tour at Brixton Academy London and they where brilliant, put that gig in my top 10 so far. Also saw them on the Doolittle tour and that was good but Brixton was up a level and some.
Playing on Compact Disc.
A recent release by the excellent John Surman.
Now Playing........

This album sometimes gets a bad press - but personally I love it. There was a time when I knew all the lyrics by heart and it worked its way deep into my soul. It feels like an intensely personal album and the better for it. It was brutally passed over (save for a single window) at the V&A show last year.
This will clear out the cobwebs.
2017 - Tidal...
UFO. No sound is too taboo 1994.
world wide acid jazz silliness
Oscar Peterson trio - Nigerian Marketplace
- Oscar Peterson - Piano
- Niels Henning Orsted-Pedersen - Bass
- Terry Clark - Drums
This is a recording of a live concert at the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland in 1981. The trio is in excellent form during this concert. This was the first time Oscar Peterson played his composition 'Nigerian Marketplace' before an audience.
If you like Oscar Peterson, than I can recommend this one.
Now Playing......
Vince Gill - When Love Finds You
Streaming on NAS......... Vince has a sweet voice and sounding mighty fine this morning.
(2013)
The Black Angels - Indigo Meadow
This one finally dropped through the letter box this morning (from Germany), more great hard driving psychedelic rock with compelling riffs and music that echoes feint remnants of The Doors, 13th Floor Elevators and Velvet underground.
