On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.

Anthony Wilson is probably best known for accompanying Diane Krall. But he has also released some albums under his own name. On this album he trio plays some fine straight ahead jazz.
Very good guitarist and leader. I've just played this one:

Playing on Vinyl on Atlantic Records - Love this album so many great tracks -"Go Back Home" with Clapton guesting is tremendous.

I agree, Ian. I've been revisiting the early Stephen Stills albums in recent years having let him pass me by at the time, he was very good, particularly in those early years.
On vinyl. New release bought today.

Any good?

Arrived in the post this morning ripped to the Core first play very good.

1969 - vinyl - UK second pressing...
Following posts by Ian and Steve. Cheers guys!
Brad Mehldau - After Bach.
Just finished this one. Brad Mehldau improvising on Bach's music. In my opinion it worked out very well. However, to my taste their is just to much reverb in the recording.

(1971)
Joining Ian and Tony with some fine Stephen Stills early stuff. Luverly

Altan - The Gap of Dreams WAV CD rip
1st play of this new release from the Irish traditional group Altan. So far a nice combination of slow ballads in Gaelic and up-tempo choons. Classy playing from the band as ever, and Mairéad’s voice is as lovely as normal. Irish folk doesn’t get much better than this.
Miles Davis - Nefertiti
The second quintet:
- Miles Davis - trumpet
- Herbie Hancock - piano
- Ron Carter - bass
- Wayne Shorter - tenor sax
- Tony Williams - drums

2018 - Tidal...
Having a listen as I see some people have already bought the vinyl. Must admit that apart from Hear My Train A Comin’ not much to excite me here. Maybe a few more listens will help but I doubt.

(1977)
Crosby Stills & Nash - CSN
Sticking with the Stephen Stills theme, this is my absolute favourite of the Crosby, Stills and Nash albums. This 2013 Audio Fidelity remaster by Steve Hoffman sounds great with a really lovely SQ to my ears.
Now Playing.......

Sunny War - With The Sun
Streaming on TIDAL....... Going with a mention from EWEMON that he made yesterday. A new release from 02/02/18 and the first track has a beautiful voice, with backing vocals and a sweet acoustic guitar. Sounding very nice......
Thanks Tony and Stevee you guys have made me give this a spin on the Technics - Playing on Vinyl - naturally ![]()

Waters' best solo album in my view. Terrific reproduction quality and sound-staging. One of those albums that just have to be listened to from beginning to end in one session.

I don't know about you Mike but I'm one of those that want to listen to all my albums from beginning to end.
The Barr Brothers - Queens of the Breakers. Founded in Montreal, but originally from Providence, Rhode Island. Remind me a bit of the Low Anthem (also from Providence). Very good album and I will be investigating their earlier work.
