Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - Vinyl (1973)
Harvest - SHVL 804, Harvest - 1E 064 o 05249
I got this from our Canal Trust Book shop for £6! Playing now with the demo 552DR. Sounds amazing. Fingers crossed that it continues without problems. No expert on precise identification.

It's a good 'un Phil. Trust me, it'll knock the likes of the umpteen anniversary, MFSL pressings etc. for six.
Tony, It’s even got P 1973 The Gramophone Company Limited on the label, prism is not solid pale blue but the rays go all the way through, and the front side cover glued, making it quite early! The end of the first side is a bit noisy, but there was a small dirt ball that dropped off, so should get better and can clean it again.

Continuing the Santana theme with Barboletta

Hailu Mergia: Lala Belu. Afro-jazz, from Bandcamp, just out. It swings!
Just came across this on Fip (the track Anchihoye Lene), and am now listening to the album on Spotify, and considering buying it when I get some money.
Such an intriguing story behind it - Mergia was apparently a reasonably-sized deal in the Addis Ababa scene in the 60-70's, but in trying to escape what happened to Ethiopia after that, ended up as a taxi driver in Washington DC. For years - decades - he's mostly done that, and written music for self-released tapes on a portable keyboard in his cab.
Then some chap who has a thing for rediscovering lost musicians came across a tape, tracked him down, and eventually the story led to the release of this, his first album release in 15 years.
Maybe I'm projecting, but I feel like I can hear in the music some of the joy of a man who never let the flame die out despite considerable slings and arrows, and who is now, finally after all this time, able to let it out in his still very original sounding way.
Edit - turns out it's the princely sum of $5 on bandcamp, so I decided blow the expense and splashed out!
Keith Jarrett - Standards volume 1

Some excellent album choices on here today. A good bit of inspiration for my playlist
Me ? Working in the garden earlier it's lovely to see things bursting into life again. This album seems quite appropriate...
Talk Talk - The Colour Of Spring

Now Playing.......
Kauan - Sorni Nai
Streaming on TIDAl........... Going with the mention from PAULM160 who was going with a recommendation from Steve S, so I am getting in line and heading down the trail and giving this album a spin. A lovely instrumental with minimal vocals through the first two tracks, enjoying it on this Saturday morning!

(2007)
Alison Krauss - A Hundred Miles Or More: A Collection
In the mood for some of AK's beautiful singing voice and this one dropped on the doormat this week.

Its worth looking at the back story that this album was based upon, it helps with perhaps understanding some of the music and sound effects. The Dyatlov Pass incident still has many weird and whacky conspiracy theories surrounding the event which still remains unexplained as to how these nine skiers were killed in the most brutal way. I've tried to add a Wiki' link but its not wanting to play.

Finally got round to getting this after many mentions from Ewemon. Great sounding album. First listen and I find it very chilled out, I’m sure more listens will reveal the beauty of this album

Yeah pretty good KK. Not quire the underneath-the-bottom-of-the-barrel scrapings I'd been led to believe they were. Superb version of "Hear My train A Coming"...
Thanks I will get investigate. Can’t beat a bit of Jim!

UB40 - Unplugged.
The fall out between the bothers Campbell continues with this release from one version of the band.
Largely re-recordings of their better known songs, with, unfortunately, an excruciatingly bad version of Purple Rain.
Includes a bonus album of their biggest hits from the original band ........... so it's not all bad ........ pennies from The River. ![]()

UB40 - Ali Campbell, Astro & Mickey - Silhouette.
Now this is much more like it, some fresh choons from the core of UB 40.

You won't regret it my friend. Love to your good lady and daughter.

Still IMHO the best of her albums. Another one I highly recommend. Have a listen to the last track.

A singer songwriter day today.

The best Ellis Paul album IMHO.
Haven't played this for a while and sounds superb - The Classic Yes line up - no bad tracks - Playing on Vinyl on Atlantic Records

Is there a 'best' recording of Carmen? Yup - this one.
Cheers

Labi Siffre - So Strong
