What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(1970)
Wishbone Ash - Watt
Sticking in the seventies and how good was this with Alvin Lee fronting up, great stuff.
Ian Siegal - The Picnic sessions.
Still with the blues, and Ian Siegal, arguably one of the UK's finest blues singers and guitarists.
Ably assisted by Alvin Youngblood Hart, Jimbo Mathus, and the brothers Dickenson, from The North Mississippi Allstars.
Cracking album.

Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn (1972) - Vinyl
Another from the Canal Trust Shop. I believe it’s from their prog rock phase. Sounding very good, and I’m sure I’m going to be playing it a lot more.
I have Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. Could anyone give recommendations for others.
Phil
Any of their first seven are great, but then I've always been a huge Moodies fan. So, Days Of Future Passed, On The Threshold Of A Dream, EGBDF, In Search Of A Lost Chord, A Question Of Balance, To Our Children's Children's Children, and Seventh Sojourn.
Reviewed this yesterday from my iPad.
If you're a Quo fan* then you'll buy it but its appeal to non-believers will be slim, despite the fact that it is pretty good pop-rock with some hard edges.

Waiting for snow here as well Haim! Half pain, half joy.......!
Great vibe, great double!
Their last, and, I think, best alum, produced by the great Scott Walker. On vinyl.
Now Playing........
Bill Frisell & Vinícius Cantuária - Lagrimas Mexicanas
Bill Frisell (electric and acoustic guitar, loops) and Vinícius Cantuária (vocals, percussion, acoustic guitar).
Streaming on TIDAL......... Wonderful guitar work from Bill and fantastic vocals from Vinícius, a very fun album!
Coolin'
1982 - Vinyl - UK pressing...
You put down the needle and let them do it.
This evenings listening so far
George Harrison - Living in the Material World
Gary Clark Jr - Blak and Blu
Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset, with a sublime version of When The Saints Come Marching In as a bonus track with Van excelling on sax

North Mississippi Allstars - World Boogie Is Coming.
Turning into something of a bluesfest here today, and what better than this album of Hill Country blues?
It takes you right back to the origins of the blues, with everything from heavily amped electric guitars to fife and drum hollers.
Highly recommended, and since it's on Tidal, why not have a listen .............. oh, and turn it UP!
I thought this would be a good antidote to that shockingly poor United performance but alas this is shockingly mastered to my ears. LOUD and compressed, I had hoped those days were behind us.

Mike,
Uriah have always been a bit of conundrum. Often called the poor man’s Led Zeppelin and Sabbath., sometimes unfairly. Apart from the more bluesy Very ‘Easy Very ‘Umble this one I think is the more listenable album of their entire discography. After Salisbury and Look At Yourself they finally found their feet with Demons and Wizards. Well worth a listen.

Now Playing........
Bill Frisell - All Hat (Original Motion Picture Sound Track)
Bill Frisell (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, loops), Jenny Scheinman (violin), Scott Amendola (drums, percussion), Greg Leisz (mandolin, steel guitar), Viktor Krauss (bass instrument), and Mark Graham (harmonica).
Streaming on TIDAL...... Venturing out on the Bill Frisell catalogue, love his guitar work and his music, great musicians on this album, a number performed with Bill on his Nashville album.
The Wedding Present - Take Fountain
Yeah yeah - ‘all the songs sound the same’ - I know. But this album, reclaiming the band name after the Cinerama adventure, is all grown-up and powerful. Maybe not as viscerally exciting as George Best or Seamonsters, but a worthy addition to the legend (or should that be semi-legend). Listen. Enjoy.
