On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now Playing........
Jake La Botz - Sunnyside
Streaming on TIDAL........ after mentions from EWEMON and SLOOP JOHN B I placed this album in the TIDAL queue and now taking it out for a spin. Distinct vocals with a very nice band backing him through the first couple of tracks....
Karen Lovely - Still The Rain
I have looked back on here to see who posted this originally but can't find it. Anyway, this is very enjoyable. So much so I have looked for the CD on-line but it is so flippin' expensive. Why is that? Rarity, popularity, a combination of the two?

Yes, great album. I might have posted about it, but if it was me it was a long time ago.

Fink - Fink's Sunday Night Blues Club
It's been too long since I've played any Fink, this one from last year is just superb 'modern blues' and is better suiting my mood this evening.
"...recorded at his studio in Berlin following 2014's long player 'Hard Believer' and prior to embarking on the eagerly anticipated new Fink studio album (due for release in 2017). With each track being recorded fast, live, using one vintage mic, and one vintage amp, Fink and a host of guest musicians were intent on creating a modern blues record. Fin, "My love of Blues has always been there, before I even knew what it was. Records by John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker and Chuck Berry really spoke to me. For two springs, in 2015 and 2016, I immersed myself in the blues, scouring record stores whilst on tour to inspire and educate myself… to do something raw, rough, and live, a record that just was, for its own sake. You'd think that writing blues was easy - but it isn't ... It's easy to copy, sure, and to cover, definitely, but to write original blues that is more than just a photocopy of the past actually turned out to be equally challenging and natural." - Fink
Great group of jazz musicians...
Seamus Heaney and Liam O’Flynn - The Poet & The Piper, WAV CD rip
Famous Seamus reads his own poems, and Liam O’Flynn adds a haunting piece of music after each ine to illuminate the poem. I love Heaney’s poetry, his reading of these is mellifluous and enlightening, and the playing of the great master piper adds to each work. For poetry lovers only I suppose, but highly recommended to such, wonderful poetry and music, what can go wrong?
Now Playing......
B. B. King & Eric Clapton - Riding With The King
Streaming on TIDAL........ Some noon time blues with the King and a little support from Eric.....

Thanks, Eoin. This is totally new to me and is something I'll look into.
My favourite Lizzy album - Jailbreak

I own it and played it recently, actually in the car on a road trip.
He also released a 15 CD set, Seamus Heaney - Collected Poems (ISBN 978-0-57-124707-3) which features the poems from his first 11 books. No music, unless you find the spoken word in the form of poetry being music ..... with Seamus reading his work it is certainly music to me.
Inspired by the ‘minimalism’ thread. I’d not been aware of Terry Riley until today, and now I am.
(2007)
Fink - Distance and Time
Some earlier excellent Fink blues.

I’ve got the Collected Poems set, as you say music to the ears.
Saw Rickie Lee lately so am investigating some Chuck E.

Silje Nergaard - For You A Thousand Times
Such a beautiful album! Silje has the purest of voices, and there are some lovely arrangements on this.
