First play of this album as I missed it first time round. Always really liked Robert Del Naja’s cover painting.
Great album, Paradise Circus is used on the TV show Luther.
Amazing track

Brian Wilson - Pet Sounds Live, WAV CD rip
When Wilson toured Pet Sounds in the early 2000s I avoided it, I love the album and given how damaged he was, I didn’t want to see it ruined. I picked up the CD and regretted my decision, he surrounded himself with a crack band and a set of singers who pick up when he falters, and harmonise beautifully. This is a really enjoyable live performance of one of the seminal rock albums, with some of the most perfect pop songs ever, Wouldn’t It Be Nice, God Only Knows, Caroline No, and the forum’s own Sloop John B. It’s just been announced that he’s playing this at the Cropredy Festival this year, I’m getting my revision in early.
(1989)
I fancied kicking back to listen to some of Mary Black's lovely voice and music, this is one of my favourites which has a lovely SQ to it.
Iron & Wine: The Shepherd's Dog - CD Rip.
One of the albums I was intrigued by after seeing recommendations on the forum and again, this does not disappoint. A fine album, but hard to categorise (a good thing) and I’ll definitely be exploring more from Sam Beam. Like the cover painting too.

Great idea - I’ll join you with my favourite, ‘Shine’

Melody Gardot - Worrisome Heart (2006) - CD
I spotted this for £1 at a Tewkesbury Charity shop after see my consultant yesterday. I have seen it posted before but had not realised it was her debut and actually it was made and first released independently of a record company. She says
So my only intention, or my only goal, was to make a record that at the end of the day I was happy with. And the way that the instrumentation was decided on was based on what I heard in my head, and what I thought would feel the best. So I guess having it released is kinda like having somebody publish your diary in a way!"
It is sounding amazing as is my collection as a whole after putting a Powerline on the 300DR. The demo 552 just needs the PL in the amp whereas the 282 did not. Full marks for a DIY production she controlled.
Phil
Crikey, Phil. That's one hell of a bargain for a fabulous album.
An old album but still new to me following recommendations on here. I'm glad I bought it.

I saw this for £5, but did not buy it. Any thoughts on whether I should go back? It seemed beyond their hey day but it was a big seller.
Phil
Not one of their best, Phil, but I'd have it in my collection for the song Mama alone.

Now i wish i had a De La Soul album close at hand to make a pair. Handle with care or care of an handle. Awesome!

Horslips - Tracks from the Vaults Tidal
SJB’s mention of Dearg Doom had me reaching for the Tain, the album it was on, when I instead decided I’d try this set of singles and alternative versions which had somehow passed me by for 40 years. By the end of the 2nd track, Johnny’s Wedding I headed over to Discogs and an LP will wing its way to me shortly. It’s Horslips, so that means fantastic playing of Irish folk-influenced rock, great stuff. And yes SJB, this is a suoerb version of Dearg Doom, thanks for the intro to this.
He is not as bad as Bo is but......

My favourite John Martyn album (closely followed by One World). On the playlist for later
Dire Straits - Making Movies a fine album that I always seem to overlook as I go from the debut to Love Over Gold
