An old album but still new to me following recommendations on here. I'm glad I bought it.
My favourite John Martyn album (closely followed by One World). On the playlist for later
Thanks, James. Just ordered One World.

Melody Gardot - Worrisome Heart (2006) - CD
I spotted this for £1 at a Tewkesbury Charity shop after see my consultant yesterday. I have seen it posted before but had not realised it was her debut and actually it was made and first released independently of a record company. She says
So my only intention, or my only goal, was to make a record that at the end of the day I was happy with. And the way that the instrumentation was decided on was based on what I heard in my head, and what I thought would feel the best. So I guess having it released is kinda like having somebody publish your diary in a way!"
It is sounding amazing as is my collection as a whole after putting a Powerline on the 300DR. The demo 552 just needs the PL in the amp whereas the 282 did not. Full marks for a DIY production she controlled.
Phil
Crikey, Phil. That's one hell of a bargain for a fabulous album.
Mike, you prompted me to add it to my Discogs library. Up to £5 in their marketplace. I would have had to rushed to the cash machine as I only had £1.20 after paying for parking! Did you have a Powerline on your 300 when you had a 282? I’m just gobsmacked at the way the music really sings now. The 552 really is what I was hoping for now.
@Ken_c Glad to see you back.
(2015)
Rae Morris - Unguarded
Moving on with another female artist with strong vocals, pop orientated but with good lyrics and backing made this, her debut album, great to listen to and an artiste to keep an eye on. I can't remember who originally championed her here on the forum in 2015 (Denis_A?), many thanks.

Hi Phil. Re Powerlines, yes. I pretty much maxed out on the Powerlines when I had 282/SC/250.2 (starting with one on the Naspc for the 282) so actually haven't heard a 300 without one!
Cheers

Once I read this on the right hand side, I knew it was you James! Ok, there was your avatar too. I think I may be spending a little too much time here!
Gianluigi, thanks for the recommendation. I've looked at it, I fancy it, but I'm hoping the price will drop a bit.
John Martyn - The Tumbler
A bit too folky for me, I need dirt, I like an Echoplex. But still, that fledgling angelic voice.
Still very much enjoying my introduction to the music of this lady.
Completely different thing! Awesome double!
For any interested in Pilgrimage: The Road to Santiago - 9pm on BBC2 - some celebs travelling to Santiago de Compostela in three episodes.
I’m doing it in October to raise funds for my local NHS’s Robotic Prostatectomy fund.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-nerd skin-nerd vinyl
Has there ever been a better debut album? Classic Southern Rock, charismatic singer, 2 high class lead guitars, this is more bar-room rock than the Allmans, but for me Skynyrd and the Allmans fight it out for the best Southern Rock band. An album of great songs, the beautiful Tuesday’s Gone and Simple Man, the fun Gimme Three Steps, and of course Freebird. The volume is at a level that I’m pretty sure will have the 135 fans running, this album just makes me smile and play air guitar.
On now, (sorry for the late notification) ...... Beeb 4 : "The Irish Rock Story" ............... followed by, at 22.00, "The Undertones Story", and,
at 23.00, a live performance from Van the Man, "Live at Eden" ................. oh yeah!
(2016)
Josefin Öhrn and the Liberation - Mirage
Sticking with female vocals this is a great example of modern psychedelic rock and one of my favourite albums in 2016, bang on the money!
1969 - CD(1990)rip...

Thanks for the nod I caught the Van Morrison progamme the first time and was pleasantly surprised as he really seemed up for it so I'll be definitely recording
Alan
The Plastic Ono Band - Live Peace in Toronto 69 but don't know if I'll make it through the Yoko tracks
Shakatak - Dark is the night (Vinyl Album)

Nice tip! This one will be next;
Following a recommendation on another forum and very much a departure from my usual but it has grabbed my attention. Tidal via headphones & the binaural recording makes for very interesting listening.
Janis Joplin - Greatest Hits vinyl
Janis could sing the blues like few others, and the bands on this compilation all rocked hard. Piece of my Heart is amazing for the power and emotion, Summertime is a revelatory version of the classic, Me and Bobby McGee forces me to sing along (unless there’s com0any).

Cheers Dave, recording the ‘Tones and Van, The Irish Rock Story seems to be on just after midnight as well so I’m recording that then.
Bryan Ferry - As Time Goes By standards performed in the usual Ferry vocal manner.Cool!
