What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
BBM (Bruce - Baker - Moore) .. Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Gary Moore .. one time album recorded in 1994 before they broke up. And yes, it is as good as the names of the musicians suggest.
Been a long time since I played this .. it was well worth stumbling over it again. Play it loud.
Exceptional album.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Following no.1 with no. 2, of course. I haven't played these albums for years and it's so nice to be reminded just how superb they are.

Thanks for the tip just ordered a copy off musicMagpie for £2.59
Another Otis Volt album. A few too many ballads perhaps, but the man has a great voice, the band are fantastic, and - once again - the bass on this mono vinyl LP is teriffic.
Haven't played this double album for a long time and I am enjoying hearing it again. The track listing alternates from Studio to live and then back to Studio again. Playing on Vinyl on Colombia Records from 1977
1969 - vinyl - UK first pressing...

Ian I've got this on CD as well as vinyl and I like to programme the CD5x to play either the live tracks together or the studio ones. The live version of "Europa" here wipes the floor with the original from the Amigos album with great sustained feedback from Mr Santana

Alan,
Funny you mention"Europa" as it really reminds me of Garry Moore's "Parisian Walkway"...I think its the long sustain.Garry must have been inspired by "Europa "
Thanks for your comments
Cheers Ian
The Hollies - 20 Golden Greats, a good overview with super music but a shocking cover with a strap line of " 20 great sounds that grew out of the North " and a picture of smoke and cooling towers?

Now Playing.......
Ron Miles - I Am A Man
Ron Miles (cornet), Brian Blade (drums), Bill Frisell (guitar), Jason Moran (piano), and Thomas Morgan (bass).
via CD Player........ This is one fantastic album and a great way to wake up and start this fantastic Saturday morning! All the songs are composed by Ron and this quintet of musicians blend and support each other while making beautiful music together!
After being reminded of this yesterday by Eoink, here we go back to 1971 (although I didn't discover this until at least 1987). Great recording with fine stereo presentation.
1970 - vinyl - UK first pressing...
Free - Highway
UK first vinyl pressing from 1984, another episode in today's Moz-Marr-Joyce-Rourkefest:
House of blues - piano.
Time for some blues! This is a compilations of piano blues. It has all the names most blues lovers will recognize, such as: Otis Spann, James Booker, Fats Domino, Professor Longhair and Dr. John.
Living room Farrow & Balled so hifi back in. A nice gentle mono recording to start things off and check everything is connected properly.
It’s only the 250DR that has been off for a week but I suspect It’ll take a couple of days to settle again.

Now Playing........
Tomasz Stanko Quintet - Dark Eyes
Tomasz Stanko (trumpet), Alexi Tuomarila (piano), Jakob Bro (guitar), Anders Christensen (bass), and Olavi Louhivuori (drums).
via CD Player........ Keeping with the theme of a quintet featuring a horn, piano, guitar, bass and drums...... next up The Tomasz Stanko Quintet - Dark Eyes. Another very fine album and fantastic group of musicians!
This 1985 Japanese vinyl pressing of Meat Is Murder contains an extra track ("How Soon Is Now?").
After the mono warm-up above, something more challenging of the set-up...warming up nicely. Lots of depth, nice tuneful bass. It’s coming back on song.

Of the 15 or so Fela albums I possess, this spacey effort is probably my favourite. Originally issued in '74, this is a 2014 Knitting Factory vinyl reissue.
(2006)
Zero 7 - The Garden
Something cool, laid back and relaxing after a somewhat long fraught day with the new puppy's arrival.
