On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Japan - Adolescent Sex

BBM (Bruce - Baker - Moore) .. Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Gary Moore .. one time album recorded in 1994 before they broke up. And yes, it is as good as the names of the musicians suggest.
Been a long time since I played this .. it was well worth stumbling over it again. Play it loud.
Thanks for the tip just ordered a copy off musicMagpie for £2.59
Seconded, great shout. It arrived this morning, now ripped and streaming.
The tracks where Jack Bruce handles the vocals are very Cream-like, with Gary sounding like Eric at his best, which is not a bad thing at all.
Now Playing.........
Ahmad Jamal - The Essence, Part 1
Ahmad Jamal (piano), George Coleman (tenor saxophone - on #3 & #6), James Cammack (bass), Jamil Nasser (bass), Idris Muhammad (drums), Manolo Badrena (percussion).
Streaming on TIDAL....... A mention two days ago from HAIM RONEN had me place this album in the queue and taking it out for a spin this morning. ......and it is sounding mighty fine.
A nice Happy bit of World Music from The Bhundu Boys - Playing on Compact Disc
Muddy waters - The Complete Plantation Recordings.
Where it all began for Mr. Morganfield, before Chicago. Recommended for all blues fans.

I first came across this album via a review in Hi-Fi News. I'd not heard of Shelby Lynne and the review piqued my interest enough to order it. I must admit to being quite gobsmacked when i first played it, not only for the sublime recording but for her voice and the reworking of some classic songs. Still a favourite today.
Shelby Lynne - Just a little lovin'
This album has made a few appearance on here and I gave it a listen via Tidal a while ago. Maybe I wasn't in the mood because I remember thinking 'nice but not wow'. With so much attention today, I thought I would give it another try and it is always a good sign when I discover an album is still in my Tidal queue from my last listen.
Anyway I must be in the right mood today because I have just picked up a copy of this CD from the big river. It just goes to show some albums and artists need a little longer to get under your skin. It reminds me also what a great artist Dusty Springfield was.
Now I must go to the back of my Tidal queue and listen to some stuff again. This could get expensive!
It is a fantastic album and IMHO opinion by a long way her best.
Think I'll give that a listen. Just ordered.

Having enjoyed Abacab yesterday evening, I thought I'd play another Collins-era Genesis album.
Skip James - Cypress Grove Blues.
Another new arrival, this is one not to be missed by any blues fans, though it has to be said that the recordings are blighted with
surface noise, but, hey ho, Skip James was one of the early blues pioneers.
The sun is out, so let's listen to this very nice-sounding Dusty vinyl reissue on Mercury...
Enjoying this on Happy Hour in the Office......Playing on Compact Disc.....but not to loud
I'm With Her - "See You Around" (2018) new release from Sara Watkins, Sarah Jaroz and Aoife O'Donovan. Co-produced by Ethan Johns and the ladies.
Jackson Browne - Running on Empty (1977) - vinyl
Another from the Canal Trust Shop. A bit of a punt as I have no memory of his music, but Discogs classes it as classic rock, folk rock, pop rock. Apparently his most accessible album, and possibly as a result his best selling (Billboard #3).
The title is more a reference to the perceived state of American society at the time, not that I know anything about that. I like it a lot and it will grow.
Comment welcome from anyone who knows more about him than me.

That looks interesting Jeff. I rate all three ladies highly as solo artists so keen to hear a collaboration. Cheers for the tip.
Jack Johnson - Sleep Through The Static
I haven't listened to this for a while and am yet to hear a naff Jack Johnson album.
One of my favourite Tord Gustavsen albums. It has a really good groove to it.
Lucy Dacus - "Historian" (2018) folk/pop
(1975 | 2010)
The Doobie Brothers - The Captain and Me
Early Doobies ripped from hybrid SACD for a gorgeous sunny clear late afternoon, it actually feels almost spring-like!

He's a good artist, Phil. A big part of the 70's (1972 - 1980) if you like this one I would recommend trying any of his four earlier albums. Jackson Brown, For Everyman, The Pretender, Late for the Sky. Running on Empty was also a bit of a commentary of his long years of writing, being in the studio and on the road touring and travelling, getting tired of it while also becoming more disenchanted with the music industry

PS. Your Canal Trust Shop stocks some fine old stuff...
A Nice ambient - Trip Hop Compact Disc
Branford Marsalis - Joey Calderazzo
Songs of mirth and melancholy
This is a very beautiful album. It is just piano (Joey Calderazzo) and sax (Branford Marsalis). But this is not your typical piano / sax duo album. This album does not contain any jazz standards. Most of the songs are written by Marsalis or Calderazzo. The music varies from uptempo jazz to slower melancholic music which is a mixture of jazz and classical.
An outstanding album imo. Also, the recording quality is very good.
Mid 1980s vinyl. The drumming is quite extraordinary, especially on "Pinch".
The lovely Jem - Debut album was a cracker, second not quite so. Down the dumper soon after that.
Debut album it is then...
Jem - Finally Woken
Chase and Status - No More Idols.
Fairly heavy duty, hip-hop, electro-dance, .............. call it what you like, doesn't matter, simply some great sounds, .........erm, LOUD!
