What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Paul McCartney. NEW. On vinyl from 2013. Wow, time flies - this album is almost five years old. Still seems new to me. Macca said a year ago he's working on a new album. Hope we hear some news soon.

Comment welcome from anyone who knows more about him than me.
Phil, If you enjoyed this one I'd encourage you to explore more of Browne's albums. I consider him among America's most talented songsmiths. He has an endearing voice, thoughtful lyrics, and his albums are well-produced with very good SQ. I have most of JB's albums and ROE is probably the least listened to of the bunch for me, so I'd say go further into his discography. His earlier albums are my most listened to. Cheers!
Melissa Etheridge. Eponymous debut on CD from 1988. Unadorned and straightforward bluesy rock delivered with edgy, passionate vocals. Works for me.
Joe Walsh. But Seriously Folks. On original vinyl from 1978. Fantastic tracks top to bottom and this pressing mastered at Sterling by Ted Jensen is a sonic gem for dynamics, soundstage and imaging.
RIP Buell Neidlinger the bass player on this session - and many others. See this lovely appreciation by Richard Williams:

Jeff A,
This is a link to a very good Roger Mc Guinn blog I came across.Very well put together with good photos and equipment.
Wishing you a good day
Cheers Ian
A mix of R&B, Soul, Funk and downright brilliant blues. Highly recommended.
Followers of Gary Clark Jr have a listen to the 3rd track Power.
His first album ain't bad either.

IMHO I would listen to everything up to Hold On as I personally think they are all outstanding albums and a coouple are true classics. After that album I thought he went downhill. I know a lot of people rate his I'm Alive album but I can't listen to it anymore.

Hoping my CD will arrive in the post tomorrow.
Me too.
You won't regret it Nigel. The normal cd also has really good sq. I have a copy of the SACD and the sq is simply stunning.

Nope I post stuff I have listened over the previous hours or so as I usually always have music on in the background sometimes 3 different albums going in 3 rooms. I know weird.
At the moment I have the Stones on in one room, AJ Ghent in another and Long John Hunter in another.
But apart from that I find if difficult to listen to an album all the way through these days as I suppose it is a curse for having so much physical product and stuff on HDD's as you can develop a tendency to pick out what you think are the best tracks on an album and only play them also what I did for a living many moons ago may be another reason.
Think there are a couple of other guys like me on the forum but I wouldn't imagine there is many.
Very occasionally I will play something all the way through.

From 1988, and the height of 'Rare Groove mania', a mighty fine collection of funky obscurities on the Streetssounds label. Original vinyl.
