On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now Playing........
Eberhard Weber - Endless Days
Eberhard Weber (bass), Paul McCandless (oboe, English horn, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone), Rainer Brüninghaus (piano, keyboards), and Michael DiPasqua (drums, (percussion).
via CD Player........... In the need for some beautiful and soothing music to calm the mind & body while preparing for a presentation in a couple of hours. I am finding Endless Days to be perfect!
Stanley Cowell trio - Depature #2
Very good straight ahead jazz from the Stanley Cowell trio.

Good album!
You might be right, the 1 like so far is you I suppose?
Now playing here;
(1970 | 2016)
Bobbie Gentry - Fancy
Finally the package with two Bobbie Gentry SHM CDs arrived from Japan this morning, duly ripped and now getting a first play. Luverly
Paisley Underground Band - The Rain Parade - Playing on Vinyl on Zippo Records
D Bowie - Hunky Dory
An old fave classic, which I've not played for ages. Sounding so fresh.
Chris Stapleton - Traveller
Superb album, not one duff track, but this gentleman can do no wrong IMHO
Frank Zappa, Ship Arriving Too Late To Save a Drowning Witch, original U.K. vinyl
Another Naim using Zappa fan here, well worth a spin this one, the lyrics might pick on easy targets sometimes, but it's Zappa still experimenting with sounds, and all the songs are wild and very enjoyable. No Not Now and the title track are great stuff, Steve Vai playing like a madman, and FZ’s then teen daughter Moon Unit skewering her age group on Valley Girl. Even now 35 years later I occasionally hear middle aged English guys mutter Grody to the Maaax, and know how they spent their youth.
(1969 | 2016)
Bobbie Gentry - Touch 'Em With Love
After having played the fine sounding Fancy earlier I had to give this 'new one' a listen.
Tabby cat posted:We Love this album in my office - Just so seedy - Brilliant debut from Soft Cell from 1981 on Sire Records.......Playing on Compact Disc.......under a Red light
Thought of this one as I saw your post so it's playing now;

Totally...
Horslips- Tracks from the Vaults, original vinyl
Discogs delivery this morning, after a listen on Tidal over the weekend. Great Irish rock, mix of instrumentals and vocal numbers, Horslips rocked hard with a strong Irish tinge, this is a fantastic set of their stuff. Thanks sjb for the intro to something I’d missed.
(2013)
Samsara Blues Experiment - Waiting For The Flood
Very fine hard edged psychedelic, space-rock / stoner-rock with a great bluesy feel to it by this German band from Berlin who get better from album to album. Well worth checking out.
Roman Rofalski trio - der wegweiser
Streaming via Qobuz. Checking out a for me new piano trio. Sounds good so far.
- Double Bass – Johannes Felscher
- Drums – Philippe Lemm
- Piano – Roman Rofalski
Mark Radcliffe on R2
(Neckerchiefs optional).
1971 - Vinyl - UK first pressing...
Had to listen to it after that Greasy Truckers gig this afternoon..
Pale Saints - The Comforts of Madness
Faces, a nod’s as good as a wink... original U.K. vinyl
Perfect pub-rock, Ron Lane and Kenney Jones lay down a boisterous foundation, Ronnie Wood sounds as though he’s already in the Stones, Rod Stewart is in great soul-rock voice. Stay with me has never sounded better, Memphis Tennessee has a great groove.
(2017)
Samsara Blues Experiment - One With The Universe
Before I fire up the BBQ, time for another one from these fine bad boys, their best to date and one of my favourite albums from last year.
Poet and the one man band - poet and the one man band - UK vinyl
Another Discogs arrival this morning, a one album band, mainly note ale,for the next bands, Donahue and Donaldson went on to Fotheringay, several others became Head Hands and Feet. An enjoyable album, nothing stunning, good songs, well sung and played, country/folk in style, sone fine playing by Albert Lee.

This is my favourite Faces/Rod Stewart album, Debris by Ronnie Lane is just a gem.
1970 - Vinyl - UK first pressing...
Missed 1971 by a whisker but then again there is always SPLIT.

I've got her first 2 albums but seem to have missed out on more recent ones. Are they as good?

David Bowie - Hunky Dory, 180gm vinyl
One of the Duke’s greatest, Changes, Life on Mars, oh you pretty things and pretty much every other song are masterpieces, Ronson’s understated guitar and Wakeman’s flowing piano partner Bowie’s voice perfectly, and the rest of the Spiders provide a great base. Play triggered by the 1971 albums thread, thanks, it’s always a joy to listen to this.
