On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

I've got her first 2 albums but seem to have missed out on more recent ones. Are they as good?

Hi Steve! Well Sade is Sade. The moment you start thinking it's pop then you start thinking something else. I own the first two as well and this is good to me too.....

Had to listen to it after that Greasy Truckers gig this afternoon..
Hi Tony,
I also have the Greasy Truckers Party in the collection.I think its very collectable these days and worth at least £75 +
Seeing In Search of Space from you made me smile as I have a work friend who is a massive Hawkwind fan and he is buying my copy for £50 this payday. Its been in a plastic bag in the office for the last couple of weeks.Like your posting its a UK first pressing a bit dog eared but the Hawkwind log is in pristine condition as is the Vinyl. He's well happy - I think its worth over £ 100 though. But cash is always useful and already have 40 Hawkwind albums - compilations + Calvert solo +Micheal Moorcock + Huw Lloyd Langton solo.I.C,U etc. on the shelf
Wishing you a good night
Cheers Ian

David Bowie - Hunky Dory, 180gm vinyl
One of the Duke’s greatest, Changes, Life on Mars, oh you pretty things and pretty much every other song are masterpieces, Ronson’s understated guitar and Wakeman’s flowing piano partner Bowie’s voice perfectly, and the rest of the Spiders provide a great base. Play triggered by the 1971 albums thread, thanks, it’s always a joy to listen to this.
My fave from this was always “Queen Bitch” even though they did nick the riff from “Three Steps to Heaven”. They did a great version on the BBC (OGWT?)
Rory Block - Turning Point, original UK vinyl
Moving away from 1971, Rory Block’s 1989 album, some lovely ballads infused with her bluesy voice, and her lovely country blues guitar work. Classy blues influenced rock, I only ever bought this one from her and never understand why, I think a trip to the usual sites may be in order.
Recently discovered this lady and her amazing voice. Mellow jazz, with simple musical arrangements that allow the lushness of her voice to shine. Been working through her back catalogue and, with the exception of her debut which misses the mark for me, have enjoyed it all; available on Tidal.

An old fave classic, which I've not played for ages. Sounding so fresh.
That and Ziggy are my two favourite Bowie albums, Chris.
Testing out bass extension on new 300DR (one week in). Mike Rutherford’s subterranean bass pedals on “Entangled” and “Squonk” providing just the right test.

Missed 1971 by a whisker but then again there is always SPLIT.
And both great albums, Tony.
Earlier The Traveling Wilburys - Vol 1 and then Vol 3.Perhaps the second album is not as good as the first but these discs are always worth a spin
Alan
Allman Bros Band - Eat A Peach
R
Ryko reissue including “Don’t sit down”

There never was a studio volume 2.... after Roy Orbison died they did vol 3, deliberately not a vol 2. Record company may have filled in the gap......but sad,y there is only 2 albums.

Finally the package with two Bobbie Gentry SHM CDs arrived from Japan this morning, duly ripped and now getting a first play. Luverly
Steve, what do you reckon to the SQ of these? I am a fan of the two BG SHMCDs as you know...

Yes you are correct and I phrased my comment poorly as I was referring to Vol 3 as the second album

+1 on that Mike. Those 2 are the diamonds amongst the gems for me too.
Just spotted this triple album on the river. 3 extraordinarily brilliant albums for peanuts. I’ve got them all and they are 3 of my most often played. Bargain is too small a word.
