What's Jose Mourinho doing on that cover?
Who?

I caught a snatch of a recording of Nick's mother, Molly Drake, playing on Late Junction the other night. I was surprised and pleased to hear how much of his intonation was hers.
So I'm playing this CD to remind me of them both.
I wonder where he would be now if he had lived? One of the great 'what ifs'.
I suppose the other great 'What If' would be in the context of this lady:

Why not add Robert Plant to Sandy Denny. Incidentally discovered he was with Led Zeppelin! But I suppose that many of you knew that, but I would not have guessed from his work with Alison Krauss.

Another great album by Release the Long Ships.

Hi Phil, you probably know, but in case not, Sandy was the female vocalist on Battle of Evermore on Led Zep IV. She was reputed to be about the only female musician who could last the pace with Zep on a drinking session (source reminiscences from Jacquie McShee at the Pentagle club in the early ‘80s.)

I looked up Nick Drake and Sandy Denny and found that besides both dying young they were connected through Joe Boyd’s witchseason (?). The Nick Drake dot com page then provided the Led Zep link you quoted. It’s was nice of Chris and Clive to introduce the brain teasers! Thanks all. Never to old to learn. It keeps you young! Thanks Eoin.

Carla Bley: 4x4. Classy jazz from a talented octet.
Blondie: Pollinator 24-bit – 88.20 kHz. HD Download.
Who’d have ever thought this would be such a delight. Not their very finest, but still an absolute pleasure.
First albums of the day and just needed something energetic (and coffee) after a tricky night with a toddler.
Yello: Toy HD 24-bit – 48.00 kHz Download.
Just felt like a bit of Yello and their latest does sound rather good.
Playing on Compact Disc - Very calming
Yello: Flag CD Rip.
Listening to Toy just reminded me how good their back catalogue is.
Great album by Rickie Jones Lee Jones from 2003.Shes on fine lyrical form and top musicians guesting top stuff.Playing on Compact Disc
First play very good.
superlative pop songs from an unjustifiably neglected group. Vinyl rip.
Yello: Baby - CD Rip.
Finishing off the Yello set with my favourite album of theirs.
Playing on Compact Disc - Just Brilliant from The White Stripes an absolute must have in any collection
The Teardrop Explodes: Kilimanjaro - CD Rip.
Its back to teenage land with this album - I’ve not played this in ages and I still have an original copy on vinyl in the loft too. Reward has to be up there as one of the great 80’s singles.
