On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Clive, I agree it's classic album of the genre and a masterpiece of the time, probably one of my top twenty albums 20th century albums.

Phil,
It's In The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson. One of the most iconic albums and album cover artworks of the last 50+ years

LP - Universal Music / Geffen Records 2007 : )
After watching the telly BBC Wednesday night - the biopic movie about Jimi Hendrix's early years in the UK, which gets him as far as a trip to Monterey. I though it only right to enjoy this album released posthumously in 2007 - recordings from 18th June 1967.

Phil,
Buy it! Just buy it!! This is a genre and time defining album. It may be difficult to get quiet vinyl, because part of side two contains a long quiet section, but the CD has been released as HDCD and that is also very good. When you get this, choose the right moment to play it for the first time, preferably with the lights down low and with a glass of your favourite tipple.
I really hope you 'get' this album. It is something very special indeed.

Phil, just do what Clive suggests it's one of THE great albums of the last 50 years or so.

Clive and Steve, Yes I will. I have not got as far as Steve’s King Crimson recommendations. As Tony20111 put it I got a bit carried away with *e*e*i*! But hey, LED Zeppelin II today!

Very much support the other recommendation about ITCOTCK but if you're tempted to get into King Crimson their other classic album - and 'must have' in my view - is this:
Lizard has been a favourite album of mine for very many years.

Such a good British blues rock band that really know how to do it very well. Unfortunately they have flown under the radar for 25 years!! Great stuff.
Pity their best album is not available

I know many consider this their best album. My vote is still to be cast.
