What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
CD. Yo-Yo Ma - The Silk Road Ensemble - Silk Road Journeys: Beyond The Horizon
Sly and the Family Stone There's a Riot Goin' On
The Vaccines were apparently booked to be on the cover of the NME the week it ceased its print version forever. Bad luck, given their energetic garage rock makes them as close to a perfect NME band as there currently is. But the extremely high quality songwriting on their fourth album means that their church will surely broaden beyond the indie faithful.

DRIKUS, I see from your selections so far that you like your jazz-funk and crossover stuff from the late 70s/early 80s, me too. Tom Grant is new to me and am really liking it. In fact just grabbed a pre loved CD of this from the river at a bargain price.
Thanks for posting.
(1978)
David Gilmour's first solo album which, is still probably my favourite of his solo goes.
Ben Harper And Charlie Musselwhite - No Mercy In This Land
This has got a hard-nosed blues vibe that is rather infectious. It sounds a bit rough via Tidal and I hope the CD (ripped) might sound a bit better. Does anyone own the CD of this who can advise?

David Gilmour - On an Island
I've not had this laid back Gilmour album out for a couple of years, as is to be expected there are swathes of lovely guitar solos backing up his voice which was in fine fettle.
Of his solo albums that I've heard, this is one I like best.
Newly purchased addition to my Edie Brickell collection. I think GraemeH recommended this one.
(1970)
King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon
