On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
And then followed by the album with the great version of Mistreated, the 2nd Child in Time...

That’s a cracking album Tony.
Yes, Kevin, and they were also rather good live too.
i was just getting home in the car while listening to BBC radio 3, they were playing Take Five...
at home had to sit in the car for a couple of minutes to enjoy the track to the finish
so getting indoors i just have to play this fab album : )
Debs
Gusgus: Lies are more Flexible - CD rip
The new album from Gusgus - a couple of run throughs and it’s now getting under my skin.
Al Petteway - Caledon Wood
I cant remember who posted this originally, but my thanks to whoever it was. This is just lovely.
1989 - CD (rip)...
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Blow
Norman Brown > After the Storm
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same II, WAV Rip from the SHM CD
Zep live, probably the weaker of the two discs, but I still love it. Dazed and Confused at about half an hour is pretty long, but I really enjoy it, a nice Stairway, and a great Whole Lotta Love. They were such a great band .
Ok, so I've updated the firmware on my NDS and thought I'd play the opening track from this album, just to see if it really does offer a sound improvement. Well, this is one stunning album and not just the opening track. Just coming to the end of the album for a second time. Is that just the music hitting the spot? Being in the right mood (elated following a successful firmware upgrade!)? Or does the firmware really improve the sound? I'm not sure yet, but boy, what a great, great album!

And that brilliant version of No Quarter!

@ALANP I'd be interested to hear what you think of this album
Hi Joe, sorry for late reply but just logged on.To answer your question the album follows on from its predecessor "Bingo" and if you are familiar with this its more of the same with cover versions of blues and R&B standards.Miller's guitar playing and arrangements are excellent, however my one disapointment is he shares the vocals with band member Sonny Charles as they each take an alternating lines in most songs.I would like to hear more Miller thats all but highly recommended if you can purchase reasonably
Alan
ps I play the Let It Be Fly on the Wall now and again
1997 - CD (rip)...
Another all time favourite just to try out the NDS with v4.6 firmware. Problem is though that I realise I haven't played this (what has to be a desert island disc for me) since a couple of other changes too, notably the NAP552 and NAC500 replacing NAC52 and 2x NAP135.
Funnily enough it sounds fantastic!

Tony , I think this has a nice selection of artists playing with BB but my one gripe is The Stones track is criminally short and faded just as it getting going
Alan

Yes - Close to the Edge - Vinyl
I am close to the edge as well!
An evening of vinyl: Tarkus (ELP); Tormato (Yes); DSOTM (Pink Floyd); Paul Simon Song Book. Genesis is much improved as well. All the weird sounds I put down to the demo 552 warming up have gone.
Amazing what Naim isolation shelves do to HiFi Racks (brain). Brawn on order. All my problems with the 252 demo have receded. Missed the boat with the 552 demo. Dealer is closing in for a sale! He will have to wait till I hear my beloved 282.
It’s all sounding mighty fine and better than I have heard before. All the classic range sound superb in their own way when setup is 100%.

Now Playing.........
Stefano Bollani - Joy In Spite Of Everything
Stefano Bollani (piano), Jesper Bodilsen (double bass), Morten Lund (drums), Mark Turner (tenor saxophone), and Bill Frisell (guitar).
via CD Player.......... This is a fantastic album and the opening track 'Easy Healing' is a favorite of mine, simple joy!
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. You're Gonna Get It. On original vinyl from 1978. What fantastic SQ! Vinyl was sounding so wonderful in the late-70s and early-80s. Then digital came along and threw a wrench in it all.

Alan, thanks for the follow up. I've sampled several of SM's later albums and nothing past Book Of Dreams has ever interested me. In case you've not ventured into his early stuff, I'd highly recommend his first three albums: Children of The Future, Sailor, and Brave New World. Creative blues- inspired, folksy, psychedelic rock. A more genuine feel from before he found his commercially successful sound. Cheers!
