On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Roon has a “Discover” section that looks at your collection and pick albums, genres, sidemen etc.
Free Funk, whatever that is, was one of the genres highlighted which led me here.

Now Playing.........
Carla Bley - Andando el Tiempo
Carla Bley (piano), Andy Sheppard (tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone), and Steve Swallow (bass).
via CD Player........ Starting the evening with Carla, Andy & Steve and sounding mighty fine!
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. Night Moves. On original vinyl from 1976. I had the LP at home, my older brother had the 8-track in his car. Between the those two formats I got many listens to this classic album back in the day. That same original LP still sounding fabulous tonight.
Foghat. Fool For The City (1975). On MFSL vinyl from 2008. While an excellent classic rock album, the original vinyl was rather flat and narrow for imaging. The re-issue has a wider, taller soundstage with better percussive impact, but you can only put so much polish on an original paint job.
During workout - not the strongest...
Completely different from all other versions I know, triggered by the re-release of DG today...
George Harrison. Early Takes Volume 1. On CD from 2012. An excellent collection of demos from the "All Things Must Pass" sessions. High quality stuff, recommended for a Harrison aficionado. I'm awaiting news of a Volume 2 release.
Lowes is a local band from Lancaster (UK) that I've watched go from pub gigging, to a self released single, to getting air time on national radio, to playing Kendal Calling to signing a recording contract. They are a lovely bunch of people too. First full single release today "Here We Are" and I hope the start of good things for them. Love it. Couldn't find the cover image of the new single in a linkable form so here's a pic of Evie the lead vocalist and keyboard player. Echoes of Kate Bush and Florence and the Machine and original nonetheless.
Billy Idol - Idol Songs.
Pop pap, I know, but it's putting a smile on my face this morning.
Listening to the new on Tidal. A bit undecided yet. Some nice audio landscapes on a groove. But sounds for me at the same time a bit too much as background music at a hot summer night.....
Let's see if it grows on to me...
Playing on Compact Disc on The Excellant NAXOS Label
Bo Diddley - Six Classic Albums.
Another 4 CD re-mastered boxset from the good folks at Real Gone Music.
Actually, it's nearer seven albums, since the last one additionally includes some live tracks and hit singles, and at less than 10 squid
from The River? ......................... go on treat yourself!
First of the day Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto featuring Antonio Carlos Jobim - Getz/Gilberto .
followed by Prince - 3121, with some great guitar playing on the track "Fury"
