On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite - No Mercy In This Land.
More Ben Harper, I'm afraid, but this album, Ben's second outing with veteran harp player Charlie Musselwhite, is simply stunning.
One which should be in everyone's collection, IMHO.
Agree, and ust like someone mentioned a while ago, I am also not a big Ben harper fan but somehow this two gel really well together and there's great chemistry. Well worth a listen.
Friday. Official now.
Special, but strange album....
Vinyl again.
Why? Time for a slight change of pace..

Karen Lovely - Still The Rain
A classy album which could be described as bluesy soul or soulful blues. Listening to this via Tidal as the CD is sooo expensive.
Thouroughly recommended.

Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama - There Will Be a Light.
Absolutely sensational blues / gospel album, which is receiving much playtime Chez Dave.
Another fine recommendation from the good folks here in The Music Room ........................ respect!
Good idea Dave, and am joining you with this one. Listening to it for the first time post 4.6 update and it has gained at least one octave at the bottom end and that far end of the spectrum is beautifully controlled. The album has also gained some air and some additional insight which gives it a funkier feel.
Great music and loving what 4.6 is doing.
Ben Harper with Charlie Musselwhite - Get Up!
Enjoyed the previous one so much, so this, every bit as much a fine blues groove as the new album ......... recommended.
Streaming now on my now not quite so obsolete NDS, following the recent 4.6 firmware upgrade ............... lovin' it!
Now Playing.......
Pat Metheny Group - American Garage
Pat Metheny (6 & 12-string electric and acoustic guitars), Lyle Mays (piano, oberheim, autoharp, organ), Mark Egan (bass), and Dan Gottlieb (drums).
via CD player......... Picked this up recently at Golden Oldies and taking it out for another spin, quite enjoyable!
Well I don't need much of an excuse to join in a Melody Bardot fest.
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King - CD
This is sounding even more haunting, and track 4 quite different with its very experimental music.
