On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Time Waits For No One is a great track and Taylor's guitar solo is simply hypnotic!
Probably my favourite Taylor solo.although saying that his work on Can't You Hear Me Knocking is not too shabby
Texas - Southside, a very good debut back when they were a pop/rock band with Sharleen's strong vocals and plenty of guitars
Gregory Porter - Nat 'King' Cole and me

Massive Attack's finest IMO and extra special for me as it was the soundtrack to a brilliant 1998 living in Sydney . Great sounds and memories .

First play and the first time I've ever heard this album. Not bad for an album that was released before I was born!

Ry Cooder - Get Rhythm.
The title says it all, scorching slide guitar from the master, .............. oh, and the rest of the band's not half bad too!
Hope the new one, due out next month, and already pre-ordered, is anything like as fine as this.
Now Playing.......

Terje Rypdal - Waves
Terje Rypdal (electric guitar, RMI keyboard computer, ARP synthesizer), Palle Mikkelborg (trumpet, flugelhorn, RMI, tac piano, ringmodulator), Sveinung Hovensjø (6-string electric bass, 4-string electric bass), and Jon Christensen (drums, percussion).
Streaming on TIDAL........ Starting Sunday morning with Terje Rypdal's Waves. Looking out the window this morning the misty view reminded me of the album cover. As good a reason to lead to the first album of the day as any other.........

Alan
Phil Collins - Face Value , nice and loud on SACD

Here's a taster Alan.
Ry at his best, I feel, and that slightly overcooked guitar sound is just gorgeous ................ just pure Southern fonk. ![]()

Thanks Dave , i watched it the first time you posted it and if the album is more of the same I think we are in for a treat
Now Playing.......

Kristjan Randalu - Absence
Kristjan Randalu (piano), Ben Monder (electric guitar), and Markku Ounaskari (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL........ Taking Kristjan's Absence out for a second spin. Very nice this Sunday morning!

Fantastic album, just love the 'Brothers' album!

More Bill Evans. I seem to recall last Sunday being largely devoted to Mr Evans. Must be a Sunday thing. This is one his best IMO. If you don't have this in your collection, why not? After all, 'Everybody Digs Bill Evans'.

Ry Cooder - Ry Cooder.
I'm having a lazy Sunday re-listening to many of my oldest and bestest albums, following last week's 4.6 firmware update, and this one
has never sounded better.
Thanks very much to the chaps at Naim for rendering my NDS even better than before .......... and it was no slouch then. ![]()
Neko Case Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
The Vulgar Boatmen - You and Your Sister
This is the earliest (1989) of the three albums by them that I own. I cannot believe that the band weren't bigger. Maybe it was all just a bit too homespun. World's gone bonkers. No justice!

(2011)
Wooden Shjips - West
Try as I might I can't get very far away from the Wooden Shjips, Moon Duo, Josefin Öhrn etc., psychedelic rock sounds. West is just another fine Shjips album to let wash over you...
Jamiroquai - The Return of the Space Cowboy
Sunday evening tunes courtesy of the cat in the hat.

One of my favourite Mac albums.
The wilderness of Manitoba - Hymns of love & spirits
Good folk music with some great harmonies between the vocalists.

Ali Farka Toure with Ry Cooder - Talking Timbuktu.
Ali and Ry cook up some sublime Malian blues ............... a masterpiece, (IMHO).
