On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Gomez - Bring It On.
I see from today's Times that this has just been re-issued, together with a vinyl package with loads of extras, to celebrate the 20th.
anniversary of the original album.
It was a great album which has stood the test of time well, so I'm giving it a spin now.
Signing off for tonight, in order to take myself off to the music room, so, nighty night.

George Thorogood - Party Of One.
George's first ever solo outing .............. can it possibly work without The Destroyers on board?
Of course it can ............. rock on George, how sweeeeet it is!
I see from past posts, you like your GT, Dave
Me too !!! Don't know his solo stuff though (only with the D's) so may give this a go
I first saw George and the boys in '82, supporting The Stones, and he blew them off the stage, especially surprising to me, as I'd only
turned up to see Mick & Co.
I've been a fan ever since, and this solo effort won't disappoint.
Same here Dave ,was it St James Park or Roundhay Park? I was lucky enough to see both gigs and to date the Stones are still the only band that I have seen twice on the same tour.
Alan
I saw them at Roundhay Park, and, as I said, much as I was actually there to see The Stones, I was completely blown away by George and the boys.
Suffice to say, since then, I've seen The Destroyers more times than I've been to see Mick & Co. , no mean feat, considering how seldom they tour UK.
Mind you, I'm off to see The Stones at Old Trafford in a few weeks, shame George wasn't tempted to join them once again.
Enjoy , we checked the prices for Edinburgh but decided against it ( retirement and all that ).Yes remember being impressed by G T and also enjoyed Joe Jackson.I'm really pleased for you and all the guys with your improvements due to the upgrade and it has made enjoyable reading.Keep the joyous posts comimg in
Just finished The Doors - L A Woman , "Riders on the Storm" - wow!

One of my favourite Mac albums.
Seeing your post I thought i would give it a listen but listening to this instead.
Little Axe - Bought for a Dollar, Sold for a Dime. WAV CD rip
Some fantastic blues guitar playing on this, in a funky setting, soul, gospel, dub. Gravelly voice, chilled songs, thoughtful lyrics about life and mortality, not po-faced, just grown up. The only version of the hymn How Great Thou Art in my collection, and it sounds great.
I was all ready for The Stones' It's Only Rock'n'Roll, then went for Goatshead Soup on a bit of a whim, mainly because I wanted the deep, toe-tapping feelgood of that bit where the bass comes in on the second verse of Star Star
We Lost The Sea - Departure songs
Just beautiful ambient post rock music for Sunday evening. Very melodic and emotional.
Riverside, Love, Fear And The Time Machine.
Ray Charles - The Genius of Ray Charles , from the Atlantic Masters series
The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet, WAV CD rip
Rip from the In Mono boxset, exceptional sound quality, these remasters are excellent. Not much to say about this, one ‘of the great rock, albums, Mick on great voice, the band fiery and together, fantastic songs with a feel of disillusionment running through, it opens with Sympathy for the Devil which is worth the price of the album on its own.

I have this on SACD and when playing SFtD the piano extends far outside the normal soundstage of the right channel its a wierd phenomina
LP - CAM 1975 : )
I suppose if one was in a restaurant eating a plateful of spam egg chips and beans this would be very agreeable background music, however, it also carries a fairly cool 60s style funk and relaxful charm when played with a little bit of volume on ones home audio : )
Debs
Now Playing.........
the wilderness of manitoba - hymns of love & spirits
Streaming on TIDAL........ With a mention from JEROEN20 a while ago and I must the album cover grabbed my attention, I placed this in the TIDAL queue and taking it out for a spin. Enjoying the music!

Apologies Eoin but I should have stated that I was listening to Stereo not mono and so to me the piano position feels more pronounced.
