What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Ten Years After. A Space And Time. On original vinyl from 1971. Continuing with another classic album from TYA, folksier than Cricklewood Green.
Bruce Springsteen. High Hopes. On vinyl from 2014. Another gritty, high energy album from The Boss, this one with a modern, a highly compressed SQ. The addition of Tom Morello to the E Street Band is magical. His lead guitar on " The Ghost of Tom Joad" is absolutely scintillating.

In the middle of the decade, the paper, which was always quick to jump on a bandwagon, flirted (rather clumsily) with jazz. This is one of the better outcomes of that brief dalliance, a fine compilation featuring Monk, Rollins, Evans, Miles etc.
I used to have that one. Forgotten all about it. Great for the car.
Michel Petrucciani: Power of Three. The final track, Bimini, is irresistibly swinging.
During workout, nice lyrical jazz...
Breakfast treat....
Neo-soul's coffeeshop world gets a blast of deep funk grooves.
As its a Sunny Spring morning here in the UK - And Summer around the corner - something uplifting for Monday at work - Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos.
I bought this two-CD set off the River a few weeks ago for under £7. This is my first play - variable sound quality but loads of unreleased stuff; and Bill's bass playing is top notch. Great fun.
Nerina Pallot - Stay Lucky - CD
Much more enjoyment listening to this on the demo 252 with the spare Powerline on the SCDR. Pleasantly surprised the PLs improve the SQ, although still need to do the 300DR! The improvement is more focus and sharpness to the backing.
The 282 did not quite dig out all the subtleties of her voice and the instruments. I can only imagine what the 552 would have done when properly setup, because even when it was not it was apparent there was more focus and sharpness to the backing with impressive moving of the air when required. The poor setup of the demo 552 resulted in a loss of emotion which is what makes you want to listen and other issues.
Been really wowed by Gracelands and Adele’s CDs as well.
Phil
Enjoying this - Playing on Compact Disc on EMI Records - Its got a lovely charm about it - Never Forever - Kate Bush
Fun Boy Three > Waiting (16/44.1)

A bit of a change from Mouse on Mars and one that I really enjoy. An immersive record.
Playing on Compact Disc
Disc 3 of this four-CD set, and two albums from 1961, Sings Blues and The Folklore of John Lee Hooker, the latter being my fave JLH album (of the ones I've heard, at least).

George Thorogood - Party Of One.
George's first ever solo outing .............. can it possibly work without The Destroyers on board?
Of course it can ............. rock on George, how sweeeeet it is!
I see from past posts, you like your GT, Dave
Me too !!! Don't know his solo stuff though (only with the D's) so may give this a go
I first saw George and the boys in '82, supporting The Stones, and he blew them off the stage, especially surprising to me, as I'd only
turned up to see Mick & Co.
I've been a fan ever since, and this solo effort won't disappoint.
Yep I was there too - Roundhay Park. I mentioned in the past Mick really was blown away - multi-coloured leotard and all......
