Your Queen is Sons of Kemet’s first release on Impulse!, the label that was home to Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, and Pharoah Sanders at their peaks. This adds another dimension to Hutchings’ relationship with American jazz, placing him among the players whose work he’s trying so hard to subvert and deconstruct.

Tony playing Curved Air's debut album earlier put them in my head, this was their fine second album.
I love the gate fold on that album, Steve.
Not on my CD it isn't Tony!! But yes you have reminded me what my old original vinyl copy was like
It's a pain in the posterior to put it back together!
Thanks for jogging my memory, Tony. I hope you managed to get it all back together again!

Loud before work. Now waiting on a new Tool album this year too.
What do you think about this one, Spurrier' ?
I would caution against comparing this with Mer de Noms and 13th Step as I consider both great. That said this one is not on par with those but what is. Maynard's vocals standout to me on this album. Just some fine vocals. I'm on my 2nd listen to the full album now. I've listened to the previous released tracks on Tidal over and over. Kind of wish I hadn't. I like it. It will get better with more listens. Happy it's here.
What do you think about it?
I like it a lot. I've had time to give it a couple of plays now and agree with your original feelings about it i.e. not quite up with MdN but still a good album in its own right. Interesting, well written and performed songs with his voice is in fine fettle. The CD is sitting in a virtual shopping basket waiting for me to add a few more items before I press the buy button!

Black Panther - The Album
This is Kendrick and collaborators in fine form. My teenage daughter made me by the cd last week.
Honest!
Lovely piece of Bach Flute - Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos
Fish > Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors (16/44.1)
Had already a busy listening morning..., Kandance in early form - more soul oriented, some good moments ....
Only one song, more Parker oriented...
Nice jams with a couple of stars of the time, like it..
A bit noisy not so much my style...
She has a fantastic voice, give her a try...
A bit of JH on CD to get the weekend started..
Easing in with the first of the day Clare Teal - Hey Ho
Anderson / Stolt > Invention of Knowledge (16/44.1)

Good to see someone else here has discovered the Doors HDCDs. These were originally part of the 1999 Complete Studio Recordings release and were subsequently sold individually. Never identified as HDCD on the packaging, I think they have excellent SQ on a Naim CDP.
Joe , I normally keep away from remasters now but the price was too good to turn down .It was a pleasant surprise to see the HDCD being read on the CDP.i also have LA Woman any others to recomend?
Cheers, Alan
Booker T - Potatoe Hole , a solo instrumental album backed by Neil Young and Drive By Truckers
1966 - US (mono) pressing...
Elton John - Caribou, suffered initially as the follow up to GYBR but in hindsight still full of top notch material with a little filler and as always assisted by his very capable band.
Various artists for Radio 2 - the piano room
2 CDs for my supermarket fiver. Paul McCartney, Jamie Cullum, Rufus Wainwright, and Neil Sedaka provide the standout tracks. But really, none of it is shabby.
Good but not easy to buy his albums....
A brilliant album, had already the other album of these guys @ so didn’t wait a second to buy this as well...
Followed by another great trio...
