On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Jazzanova - Blue Note trip
Now Playing.......
Bonnie Raitt - Road Tested (CD 2)
Streaming on NAS.......... CD 1 played last night and CD 2 to start off Sunday morning. One sweet voice......
Magpie Salute CD
Its not often that I post here, but saw the review of this in Hi Fi Critic and Tidal hadn't got it, so took a gamble and blind bought it - what a winner, a heavier Black Crowes, no surprise considering its Chris Robinson's band and Marc Ford is a band member too! Its also a great recording which helps.
Jimmy Reed - Five Classic Albums Plus Singles.
More re-mastered shuffle blues goodness from Real Gone Music.
4 X CD's, 77 songs, for less than six squid on The River ............... madness not to.
Now Playing.......
Bruce Hornsby - Scenes from the Southside
Streaming on NAS........ A release from 30 years ago and still sounding mighty fine, Bruce is always fine on the keyboard with fine lyrics.....
(2008)
What better than to start by listening to Shelby Lynne covering Dusty Springfield on this warm sunny spring afternoon.
Now Playing.......
Kandace Springs - Black Orchid
Streaming on NAS.......... A three track early release of an upcoming album, looking forward to the full album! .......and WOW, 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' track starting playing and I thought they had put Roberta Flack on the album.

Good catch, Seakayaker, it's available on Tidal I couldn't find it on Qobuz though.
Gregory Isaacs - Maximum Respect.
Just some easy going, early ragga style riddims ............. just the thing for a Sunday afternoon chill.
Now Playing.........
Kandance Springs - Soul Eyes
Streaming on NAS......... Continuing on with Kandace who I find to one beautiful and sensuous voice and fantastic music!
Kandace Springs - Black Orchid
Following Seakayaker's heads up and giving this 3 track teaser a go on Tidal, she is sounding as wonderful as ever.

I actually was streaming on TIDAL not from my NAS, my typo. I did check the river and nothing listed yet for pre-release of the full album but the three tracks are available for MP3 download.

I'll definitely be buying that new album.
(2000)
Shelby Lynne - I Am Shelby Lynne
Now after having quickly fried off some wonderful hand dived King Scallops from the local fish shop (as an appetiser) back to some more from Shelby Lynne with this rather fine album.

And me.
Now Playing.......
Mary Gauthier - Rifes & Rosary Beads
Streaming on TIDAL....... This album caught my eye with Mary working with a group 'Songwriting with Soldiers' and the songs on this album were released with permission and participation from her collaborator with a portion of the proceeds going to SWS non-profit group.
(1998)
The Hoax - Humdinger
My apologies for posting this again particularly as it's damn near impossible to buy, great heavy rocking British Blues.

Is it good? I have got this coming in the post and I have high hopes for it.
BTW I miss Sid James
Kasabian - Kasabian.
Livening things up a bit here with Kasabian's debut album ............... rifftastic! ................ belter! (IMHO).
Jazz guitar from Emily Remler - her third album, ‘Transitions’.
Now Playing......
Ashley McBryde - Girl Going Nowhere
Streaming on TIDAL........ A new release from 03/30/18, the opening track 'Girl Going Nowhere' caught my attention and hopefully the rest of the album builds from there.

Really good SJT, especially if - like me - you like your Who high-energy and noisy.
PS Sid will be back, once I'm done with BG

Excellent to hear - on both counts!
I am a big fan of Live at Leeds (especially in the recent version where all the songs are in the right order and there is extra banter), so this sounds promising indeed.
Now I am listening to the new version of Who Came First. Sounds very good indeed. How on earth did he fit this in between Who's Next and Quadrophenia? I think I read somewhere if you want to make your own Lifehouse, all you need is Who's Next and Who Came First, but I am not sure.
