On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(2003)
Evanescence - Fallen
A fine debut Goth metal album that I haven't played in far too long, great emotive lyrics and vocals from singer songwriter Amy Lee fronting up.
On vinyl, an RSD release. Absolutely sensational, already a candidate for my album of the year...
Shakura S'Aida - Time...
Belter!

Seeing as you changed your Avater to Bobby G.I thought I would investigate some of her stuff on Youtube out of curiosity.Great stuff.Do like her American drawl with her vocals.
Have the HB 1's been done yet ?
Looking foward to City - Swansea it's going to Rockin' at the Ethiad this afternoon.Wish I could be there but will be watching on TV.West Ham will be fine.I reckon the current bottom 3 will go down.
Enjoy the sun today Kev
Cheers Ian
Hi Ian
Yes, BG's Southern drawl is one of the settest sounds in popular music. Think WHU will be OK - just - despite yesterday's last-minute catastrophe.
Re the HB1s, a mate who has a very similar system to mine has a pair of ATC SCM11s on the end of his Linn/Naim rig and, having heard it the other week, I was blown away. Absolutely amazing speakers for the money, and I am seriously considering - when I have £1,300 - auditiong a pair properly at my local dealer (who stocks ATC). I was really impressed, especially at low volumes, which is important to me as I live in a flat.
Decisions, decisions...
The bridges of Madison county
Relaxing music from Johnny Hartman, Irene Krall, Dinah Washington and Barbara Lewis.

Jump in Steve, there are a few copies still out there. Apparently there are no plans at the moment to release it in any other format...

Clive,
Lovely show from Paul tonight thought Eric Bibb in session was stunning, don't know about you mate but you could really hear the strings on his guitar....One of those in your room moments.I know its a bit of a cliche that expression, but tonight the 01 served it up and some.It will be strange not having Paul on the airwaves again - 32 years.
Pleased I recorded that show - Thought it was great starting the show with his first ever blues program broadcast.
Having Eric Bibb on was special as my brother in law was his manager for 8 years and met Eric many times and hes a good guy.
Cheers Ian
Nils Lofgren - The Best of the A&M Years, includes two of his better known songs "Keith Don't Go " and "Back it' Up"
Earlier I heard a marvellous edition of BBC Radio 4's Soul Music, devoted to Debussy's ravishing, langorous tone poem Prélude a l'après Midi d'un Faune - one of the most radical compositions of the 19th Century, and one whose influence can still be felt today - so dug out this famous 1962 Decca recording by Monteux and the LSO. A fabulous-sounding vinyl reissue on the Speaker's Corner label...
Duo Amadé - Mozart Duo Violin Sonatas Vol. 2- WAV CD rip
One of the CDs I bought in the Chandos sale which all arrived today, having accidentally bought 2 copies of this instead of getting Vol. 3 (ordered today), I took it as a sign to play it. These are wonderful compositions, ravishingly beautiful lines over dancing Mozartian keyboard writing. Catherine Mackintosh is fantastic on the fiddle, lovely tone and flow, Geoffrey Gozier is a fine accompanist on fortepiano giving the music “bounce”, well, worth £5 for 2 copies.
This is just great. Kenny Barron’s piano is wonderful.
