On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
CTRL+Z, Life In 24 Frames.
A really catchy Progressive Pop album! Floyd/Muse/Coldplay influenced. Along the lines of SW, To The Bone, but Very different too. On Tidal.
Things get tough
Brian Wilson, at the Roxy Theatre, WAV CD rip
This album kept me company in the car on a drive in the pouring rain from North Yorkshire to West Yorkshire this evening. So I thought I’d do it the courtesy of listening to CD2 in good sound quality before bed. Brian Wilson in 2000 performing live, his voice was not what it had been, but he knew it and surrounded himself with a hot band and a set of backing volcalists who could both harmonise with him and take over when needed if he faltered. Wilson wrote some of the best pure pop and some of the most beautiful rock ever, and this is a pretty damn good run through some of his best songs, he’s in pretty good voice and the arrangements are lovely.
Remembered that I used to hear this a lot on both the John Peel and Anne Nightingale radio shows.

Tidal. Ashley McBryde - Girl Going Nowhere Mentioned by Seakayaker in Song/Track of the day.
Hard to believe this is the only album these guys put out - so good.
During my workout, a pity that I missed out so long on these guys....
Nicely refined playing...
John Cougar Mellencamp. Scarecrow. On original vinyl from 1985. Solid American Heartland music. An overall upbeat album yet several tracks, as well as the cover art, identify a sense of the fading American dream from some 30+ years ago.
Molly Hatchet. Flirtin' With Disaster. On original vinyl from 1979. Tight fast hot Southern metal served up with three lead guitars. Music that begs for an accompanying cold beer.
Just given this, their latest album a first listen. Superb, superior folk.
Lovely piece of Bach guitar - Very relaxing
Playing on Compact disc on the brilliant V.F.M Naxos label
Florilegium: Bolivian Baroque (SACD)
Earlier today The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Further Out , followed by Stevie Wonder - Hotter Than July
Playing on Compact Disc.Always good hearing some Stevie Nicks
Now Playing......

Santana - Moonflower , a blend of for then, new material and live performances, which seems to work well with probably the best version of "Europa" where Santana demonstrates his use of sustain.
