Thanks Alan, sounds like a great album, “preloved” copy ordered.
Eoin, you may already be aware but another Paul Rodgers album of note is Muddy Waters' Blues. An album of well known blues songs with guest guitarists of the calibre of Dave Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Steve Miller, Brian May and many more on different tracks.Rodgers is in fine form/voice and very recommendable. Many apologies if this post costs you more cash

You have joined DaveMarshall, Stevee, Kevin-W, Ewemon, Bert Schurink.. on my Bank manager’s hit list. He’s got a spreadsheet that shows a hit on all of you will pay back in 5 years in savings on CD/vinyl buying. . Seriously though, thanks Alan, you and the other guys are stars, you all obviously love music, you listen to great stuff, and I get to hear and buy albums I missed through you all, I really appreciate it.
And I’ve ordered the Muddy... , thanks again.

I'm sure you will get your own back Eoin ,
Carole King - Tapestry, vinyl
I was going to crash, but Stevee’s listen made me pop down and hear this on vinyl. Great songs, beilliant band, and Carole King sings them with her heart. This album is as good as it gets.
A few trax from the above to finish off the evening.
Steeleye Span - Sails of Silver, original vinyl
English folk-rock, good songs, sung wonderfully by Maddy Prior, and played brilliantly by some of the best musicians in the folk rock scene. At the time old school fans didn't approve of the “poppy” original numbers, frankly I could never tell the difference. Bouncy arrangements of folky songs, sung with humour and style with a fine band, good folk rock album.
Now Playing.......
The Notebook (soundtrack) - Music Composed by Arron Zigman
Streaming on NAS........... Just something to get Wednesday evening underway.......
Now Playing.........
Ryley Walker - Golden Sings That Have Been Sung
Streaming on TIDAL........ Going with a mention from DAV301 and taking this Ryley Walker album for a spin. First track is sounding mighty fine!
Now Playing.........
John McLaughlin - Thieves And Poets
Streaming on TIDAL....... A recent mention had me place this in the TIDAL queue and just now taking it out for a spin! Opening track is fantastic!
Jazz on Disques Vogue, cd 7 - Lee Konitz.
Paul McCartney. Tug Of War. On original vinyl from 1982. Typically not among my top Macca albums; however, listening tonight it struck a chord with me. His duet with Carl Perkins "Get It" is outstanding. OTOH, I find his duet with Stevie Wonder "Ebony And Ivory" totally mawkish.
The Cars. Candy-O. On original vinyl from 1979. Among the most-played LPs from my youth, still spins splendidly tonight. And how about that car on the cover?
John Fogerty. Centerfield. On original vinyl from 1985. Though not without a poppy song or two, a welcome return to Fogerty's swamp rock roots. While JF is credited with playing all instruments, I can't help but assume there are some canned drum tracks.
Dylan - John Wesley Harding
Lyrical, righteous indignation, the spirit of the time, or so it might have seemed. Whatever, it's never too early for, 'There must be some way out of here, said the joker to the thief'
Marconi Union - Beautifully Falling Apart. Great late-night ambient listening. Streaming from Tidal.

If you're anything like me you'll end up heading to Hendrix next to hear his Watchtower.

Good shout but when I'm feeling this righteous, more likely Dylan's Desire, to hear Joey again.
Warren Zevon. Sentimental Hygiene. On original DMM vinyl from 1987. As hard hitting and intense as you'd expect from WZ. Many big names of the day (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Peter Buck, Flea, Mike Campbell, Don Henley, Brian Setzer, Michael Stipe) contributed.
Blue on Blues a Brilliant compilation album from John Lee Hooker and Lightning Hopkins - 2002 - Playing on Compact Disc
Tuff Jazz Trip Hop from the Tru Thoughts label that brought out so many gems in this style. A genre that should be more widely known as Trip Bop.
Nothing like a nice big dose of Fat Dave's transcendental guitar playing on a Thursday morning, is there? On vinyl.
Started the day with some fresh pop music making breakfast even tastier :-)
... followed by some very enjoyable Jazz
