What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Last couple of hours in the office....what better than some Rock to start the countdown to the weekend - Playing on Compact Disc on Atlantic - "Juke Box Hero " is my fave
Vinyl sides 3 to 6 of this recently-released live album by the 'Orrible 'Oo. Mostly it is just a racket, especially the 34-minute version of "My Generation" on Sides 5 and 6. I love it!
I received this album, 'The Nothing' by The Last Dinosaur yesterday as a surprise gift. After a clean on the Okki Nokki to remove the static it's now spinning quite nicely on the LP12. It's very dreamlike, an album which you have to just let flow all around you. It reminds me very much of Damien Rice's album 'O'.
Playing on Compact Disc on Happy hour in the office .....1 louder ........what better to Rock into the weekend too
I was just putting some records back on the shelves when I noticed this, which I suddenly had a compelling need to play. I'm not sure when it was released, but on the rear of the sleeve it says that it was recorded in Feb 1978. Now I thought the 70's were a problematic time for vinyl, what with the oil crisis and all, but this is a remarkably clean pressing. I obviously didn't play it that much at the time, because it's in superb condition and WAY better than most albums I buy these days.
From the noisy old Hugh to the langorous impressionism of Debussy, as interpreted by Walter Gieseking on an EMI CD.
(1978)
Doobie Brothers - Minute by Minute
The Doobies starting off the weekend. This one is an Audio Fidelity HDCD (2005) reissue well remastered by Steve Hoffman sounding lovely.
Nathalie Loriers - Numpheas
Nice European jazz.
- Double Bass – P. Aerts
- Drums – M. Verderame
- Piano – Nathalie Loriers
- Saxophone – K. Van Herck
Wilko Johnson / Roger Daltrey - Going Back Home.
Blowing away the cobwebs with this blast of good old UK R 'n B ............. erm, quite LOUD!
Seems a long wait until June 15th. for Wilko's new album, but, ho hum.
By coincidence I’m half way through “Back in the Night” on this.
Great stuff.
(1985)
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble - Soul To Soul
SRV and the boys creating and playing their magic heavy blues rock.

I'll see your "Stupidity", and raise you this
Dr. Feelgood - All Through The City.
4 X CD set which has all the Feelgoods you'll ever need .............. still quite LOUD!
I was scanning the iPad for Dire Straits to follow on from the first album, which I was playing on vinyl. Close to Dire Straits was Diana Krall. I have hardly played this since I first purchased it, but it's sounding rather pleasant through the NDS. Perfect music to enter into evening time.
People get sniffy about Eric Coates, the leading figure in English light music.
But there is far more to this underrated composer (who also happens to be a very good conductor, on the evidence presented here) than "The Dambusters" and "Sleepy Lagoon", splendid though they may be.
This comprehensive and strikingly well recorded collection is ideal for silencing the naysayers...
(1973)
ZZ Top - Tres Hombres
Undecided as to which way to go after SRV, I just plumped for some more fine Texican blues rock with one of the Tops great early albums, this one ripped from a fine sounding first release Warner Bros. compact disc.
Fink - Sunday Night Blues Club
I've come late to this but making up for lost time. What an album!

Ha, yes! Great comment
Thanks Stevee!
Claudio JR De Rosa Quartet - Groovin' up!
- Claudio Jr De Rosa - Sax
- Xavi Torres Vicente - Piano
- Kimon Karoutzos - Bass
- Augustas Baronas - Drums
- Vivienne ChuLiao - Piano (track 8)
Dawn Penn - No, No, No.
The original, together with the '90's re-mix of the title track, are, on their own, worth the price of the CD.
Mesmerising stuff.
I may have peaked too early, how do you follow Fink? I'm having a stab with Peter Green Splinter Group - Destiny Road
It's good but it's not...... top shelf.
Duke Garwood - Garden of Ashes.
Lovely layered guitar and smoky vocals, for any fans of Mark Lanegan or Richard Hawley .............. recommended.
I loved this album on its release and am wondering why it rarely gets a spin.
